We are the kind to enjoy quiet mornings. We can either walk outside or stay in. To you, we may look so ordinary, just like everybody else. Then, what’s so different about us? We are the kind to s...

What are the signs that you might be in love…and are scared of it? Wait, why are you scared? Isn’t it supposed to be good news? Shouldn’t it be something beautiful? Well, yeah…in a way. However, ...

“Why do you seem to always fall for guys impossible to be with in the first place?” What would you do if one of your friends told you that? How would you feel, especially if those words had been ...

At first, you may think this is another typical first date story. A guy takes a girl out on a date. They have a pleasant talk until it is time to order something to eat. The guy orders the main c...

I’m not trying to be modest here (because I already am, ha-ha. Nah, kidding. I try to be, though.) Still, let me be the first to say this: Not all my writing stuff are good. I love writing. Somet...

"A NEW HOPE?"

Alright, I’m not trying to copy Star Wars here. I just thought the title fits this entry. Hail to the internet and the social media, despite ugly things people still do to each other. I finally g...

"AFTER THE JUMP"

It is like a domino effect. Anything that goes on around one’ life may turn upside down after that jump one night. First, the people at the scene. Perhaps they just didn’t see it coming. Perhaps ...

Since living alone, I’ve been guilty for not having spent enough time with Ma. I have my reasons and she has hers - and we’re both pretty cool with this. We’re both quite independent and I’m prou...

I’ve noticed that a lot of social media platforms have got their own memory features. You know, the kind that pops your older posts up on your timeline a few times or so. A year ago, three years ...

"AROUND ME THESE DAYS..."

Let’s start with something cliche: Time flies. Indeed, it does. Again and again, a lot has happened already before I have enough time and energy to write them all down here. I guess that’s how th...

As a non-native speaker, I sometimes find English confusing. There are some expressions that I personally don’t always believe, like: 1. “I’m just saying.” I can’t help this. Every time someone o...

"THE STATE OF MY BEING"

Jobs have been kind of slow and I am worried about money…like, again. I know I’ve got more time to write, which is good. However, I still need to pay the bills. That can’t be avoided. What can I ...

This happens to me sometimes. Whenever something tragic happens, I tend to have a delayed emotional reaction. My first would be to stare at it right on, my face lacking expression. Then after a w...

Thanks to Whatsapp, we can do a lot more than just texting each other. We can send cute emoticons, pictures, and videos. We can update our status and profile pictures. Now we can also do a video-...

So I ended up becoming a part of history last Saturday. I joined Jakarta Women’s March and attended The Pop Culture Impact at @America, One Pacific Place, afterwards. How was it? It was interesti...

Surely, you often hear this line in cheesy/sappy romantic movies. Perhaps someone you broke up with said that too as a last resort to keep you from leaving. Maybe it was you telling them that. “I...

"THE OLDER WE GET..."

You may add anything you find more sensible after this sentence: “The older we get…“ What would you add? The more sensitive we become? The closer we are to death? For me, at least, it’s ‘the long...

Should this tale begin with “once upon a time”, although not that long ago? When it comes to romance, The Ex-Guardian of The Isolated Castle is mostly a skeptic instead of being the more hopeful ...

Alright, so here’s the straight-and-narrow path that everyone in Indonesia is expected to go through (especially if you’re a woman): Born and raised —> going to school —> getting a job (at ...

"PICKING UP THE PIECES..."

Actually, I’ve written two entries already. However, I’ve been back to being busier again. It’s always easy to keep me busy. After a while, I’ve decided to just not post those entries at all. Not...

"A BUMPY BEGINNING"

Apparently, I started this year with a bumpy beginning. Last December, I didn’t earn much. I have to pay the bills. I don’t want to get myself kicked out of this rented room that I love so much, ...

We all want to leave bad things behind. I’ve heard from many who said that 2016 has been full of cuts and bruises - and perhaps a whole lot more to some. Of course, nobody wants to take them here...

"THE MASH-UP MEMORIES"

Time flies before your eyes. There’s always a lot that you leave behind. As you grow older, you realise that life has always been so short. Small numbers of one’s age has given you the illusion t...

"DON'T (SAY IT AIN'T SO)"

Don’t tell me. Please, at least just this one. Don’t tell me it’s for the good cause. Don’t tell me it’s for any religion for that matter. Don’t tell me you do what you do in the name of God. Don...

Perhaps you’re a pacifist. Perhaps you simply mind your own business. You’re probably this type of person during an argument, especially the most heated kind. Then how do people see you? A coward...

Book Description

If you ask me, I’m not really sure how I’ve got to nickname myself The Wordplay Warrior. I’m a poet, a fiction writer, a freelance translator, and a part-time English teacher.

How do I manage my time? That’s always interesting. Sometimes I can, sometimes it’s hard. However, I’m not going to give up.
