Driving 101 in Life After 60

Us folks here in the South rarely get snow or ice, but when we do, for some strange reason it paralyzes our brains. 1/10 of an inch of either, leads to numerous accidents. And they repeat every time, SLOW DOWN, give yourself extra time, and you will be fine.
It is, however, the idiots who can’t comprehend that make it dangerous for the rest of us.
4 wheel drive vehicles do move better in this weather but guess what, they don’t stop any better. So if you a stupid enough to drive 70 MPH and go into a slide, your 4 x 4 is going slide just like those two-wheel drives.
And then there is the run on the grocery stores. People run out and buy stuff like they think we are going to be snowbound for weeks. In my 60+ years, I have only been snowed in for 1 day. But since we have snow and sleet and freezing rain in the forecast, I better go ask my boss if I can go home and get to Wal-mart before I run out of liquor. (That is in the five food groups isn’t it?)
Have a safe day.
