My 40 bags in 40 days project has helped motivate me. I'm trying to get and stay motivated at work, which can be difficult when you work alone. Frankly, I like working by myself, but it can be a huge time suck when I look at the clock and think nothing's been accomplished over a seven hour span. I find making a list helps. I love crossing tasks off my list!
Over the weekend I bagged up three large garbage bags of clothing from me, Hero and the kids. Hero and I have both lost weight, and it's to the point where my pants weren't just roomy, they were hanging off me.
The girls actually have a lot of clothes, so once I get their room together, I think I won't buy them anything major for summer. I have some things that are in smaller sizes that I can still wear now.
Hero saw my progress and decided to work on HIS projects, which included taking away a second doorway between our living/eating area and extending the wall. Are we the only family that's not into "open concept" when it comes to living space? It looks nice in the magazines, but I really want my family to eat in the kitchen, relax in the livingroom. He promises it will be done by Easter.
What else? The kids are great. Mei got her highest bowling scores on Saturday! She got a ton of spares and two strikes back to back! CC got her lacrosse schedule and it isn't bad at all. She hopes to play goalie or defense. We'll be traveling to the island to play that team over the summer. They should get their report cards next week and I think it will be all good news.
Our finances continue to improve, I have to start paying Second Mom back at the end of the month. I'd like to pay her back in big chunks, but we may need a new refridgerator, so I have to save a bit for that. Fridges cost between $450 and $3000. I don't need an ice maker, I'll take the $500 fridge!
I can attribute my better mood to two things. I've started praying, some would call it meditating, twice a day. AND, my meds have fully kicked in. So far, it's a really good combo.
I cannot wait to get out there in the yard and clean up! It's still cold here - about 25 degrees today.
