When it comes to learning a new language, most people go with language learning apps instead of joining language course classes, books or listening podcasts and others.
There are various language learning apps that teach different languages with different formats and techniques.
Having a wide variety to choose an app, it creates confusion as to opt which app that suits you best for learning a language.
Today, I am going to write a review of Memrise- the language learning app that will make learning easy fun as well as easy for you.
So, let’s start knowing the Memrise app in detail.

Overview

Memrise is one of the trusted language learning apps that motivate to learn a language quickly. It uses the Spaced repetition method just like Mosalingua.
Memrise offers more than 200 languages across 25 world languages.
Memrise app provides a gamification element that attracts the learners. It helps in memorizing the words by linking it with one another using images, memory skills, and audio.
It is a great platform for beginners as it conducts a daily test to examine whether you are able to learn the language properly.
Now, continuing Memrise Review let’s see what else Memrise provides and its other benefits for learners.

How Does Memrise Works?

Memrise contains an elaborate coding method so that it makes easy for learners to remember the words. It not only concentrates on reading the words and its translation but also make them learn in the way they are.
It offers the practice of language in-game style to make interesting. Language learner is able to learn new words differently with flashcards exercise, practicing the reading and listening skills with native speakers.
You will receive a grammar lesson to test your pronunciation.
It is a pretty interesting way to teach a language and remember it through strong memory support.

How to Get Start with Memrise?

alt text
It is simple to get started with Memrise. First, you have to visit the course page and select the language that you are willing to learn.
After selecting the language, the list of courses will appear that you can choose to begin the learning process with other users learning it.
After the completion of a course and got to learn new words, you will get points as per your performance which will later be changed into ranks as to motivate you to learn the language and get better rank to form other users.

Lessons and Review

Continuing my Memrise Review, I found that many courses are started by showing the English translation, words, and reminders.
And then it moves into the quiz, where you have to match the English words with the translated one. Memrise also tests your ability by giving you questions in English and you will be provided four options in the targeted language to choose form.
Though the words asked are the once that you have already learned. After a few lessons, you may feel common with the questions but it’s not.
Memrise brings a speed review which I personally loved it. All you need to do is answer the questions very fast with three lives. If you lose all the three lives you lose the game.
It is really interesting and entertaining. I myself enjoyed while playing the speed review as it gives more new words to learn.

How Much Does Memrise Cost?

Well, Memrise is free, YES that’s right. There is a free as well as Pro account in Memrise. In the free account, you get limited study material basic sentences and phrases, vocabulary.
But if you pay for Memrise Pro account which costs:
Monthly- $8.99
Annually- $99.99 i.e. $2.50 per month
You can access various content, chatbots, difficult word exercise, knowledge in subjects such as math, history, science and others with offline features.
