NJM28: Thanksgiving in These Foolish Things

Unoriginal title entry, but I’m tapping this out on my phone and I hate tapping entries out on my phone.

I’m at Mom & Dad’s and we’ve had the best time! I can’t tell you how happy I was to see my parents NOT struggling too badly…though I will say that for the first time in like, EVER in the history of me being their daughter, they accepted my help with the cooking (lifting the turkey out of the oven - ALWAYS my dad’s job) and other various tasks that they’ve always taken pride in doing.

So yes, it’s partially a struggle, but we’ve laughed and I’m being very, very gentle yet take-charge with them and I think it’s a slight relief to them…while it’s a fear for me yet something I’m very aware that has to be done.

Meanwhile, my brother is oblivious, while my SIL doesn’t really get it either.

It’s Thanksgiving and I’m thankful I still have them and I can’t tell you what a joy it was to binge watch some British home decor reality TV show with them tonight. THESE are the moments I cherish.

Oh, and my niece is a riot. She just had her 4th birthday and she’s going on 35. What a nut!

Bed calls. I’m still at my parents’ place and I have to do some Black Friday research in the AM.
