First grade so far:
Day One - Clara exhausted to the point of weeping by the last bell. My dad being a pushy jerk when they picked her up didn't help matters. She likes school, but thinks there are too many recesses and she is TIRED. Wets the bed that night for the first time since out of diapers.
Day Two - We try out school breakfast and are thereby late for class. Clara meets a girl (maybe Samantha?) who reminds her of Delaney, but is really shy. Comes home with a song and dance learned in Music class. Half day of class left her with more energy. Starting to hit overdrive for all transition times, though. Much difficulty with self control.
Day Three - Massive tantrums over which school clothes to wear. Refused breakfast. Three time outs and two spankings in the course of an hour. (and I have spanked this kid like 3 times in her life prior to today) Late for school. I'm done, and it's only 8:15.
Just me, or is this deteriorating?
