I don’t remember what happened up to this point, but I was at some kind of small party at a house, and there came a point (I think it was between 8 and 9 PM when the hour and minute hand cross) when the host declared that some sort of witching hour was upon us. I remember thinking that this was an awfully arbitrary point in time for that kind of thing, but I didn’t actually voice an objection.

sensing that this meant we were supposed to mingle, a girl and I paired off and passed from the room of the host’s announcement into a different room where no one else was. she was clearly the shyest one there, and I might have been second in that regard.

she was disappointed when my nervousness made it look like I might not be interested, which got me to spit out that it wasn’t that, just could we please refrain from biting? (because we were inexplicably both vampires, or at least had the fangs, and I wasn’t used to that and was therefore nervous about making a bloody mess.) I didn’t realize at the time how presumptuous that probably sounds to someone you’ve just met, but then again, I’ve never really been to a mixer party.

and then we kissed. she was a bit short but not too much, on the skinny side, possessed of generally soft features, and delicate to the touch. she didn’t look quite like any girl I could think of IRL, though she came close to one or two whom I haven’t seen in years.

holding hands walking back to rejoin the others, she did say I was a good kisser, and I did thank her for so saying.

it wasn’t until I woke up that I realized that she reminded me of what a humanized version of Marble Pie might look like, except with both eyes visible (not covered by hair).
