Name: Mr. Blushington
Introduction Platform: Bumble
Age: 60 - and looked GREAT!
Relationship Status: Divorced. Not sure if he’s had multiple marriages or not. Two grown girls - I know one lives on her own out of state, and the other one just left for college. He is an empty nester for the first time.
Job: Some sort of medicine that combines conventional medicine and chiropractic medicine. Don’t really understand it and need more info.
Lives: Another suburbanite. You know how I feel about that. Meh. BUT. His office is right down the street from mine, so we met halfway for lunch at a restaurant we both love.
Length of Date: Lunch hour.
We Did: Met for a healthy lunch at my favorite Lebanese restaurant. See above.
He Looked: Really, really great! He’s in great shape and clearly very healthy. Very nice smile and features (bald, and it worked for him). He was wearing a scrub uniform with the name of his practice on it, but I don’t remember it. I can look it up, though. It’s legit…I still just don’t understand the intersection in the medical philosophies. I suppose they can be considered complementary. Sidetrack.
I Looked: Business. I was wearing a belted dress with pretty tall wedge heels. I always like to wear heels on a first date because then I can measure up the situation. If a guy is intimidated that I’m actually taller than he is in heels (happens a lot), then I’m pretty sure it’s not gonna work since I like to wear heels a lot. But this guy was cool. He’s 6’1”…and the thing is, he seemed taller than Bruce Willis (my date the night before) who also said he was 6’1”. My heels were the same height. Something makes me feel that our ol’ friend Bruce fibbed a lot more on his profile than Mr. Blushington might have.
Convo: Here’s where the name comes in. I made the guy blush! About 5 minutes into the conversation we somehow started talking about dick pics and nudes and such - I can’t remember HOW this came about, and I was talking about women who do that…and at one point I asked him in a way about what he might have done in a certain scenario (again, can’t quite put my finger on how it happened), but I made him FULL-ON blush! And it was kind of adorable. We laughed and laughed. Other than that, we talked about the kind of normal getting-to-know-you stuff. It was a fun, good, quick lunch.
High Point: The easygoingness of it all. It was a simple lunch - fast and easy.
Low Point: Ugh. I hate to say this because I say it a lot. I didn’t feel sparks. I think the guy is nice enough, but he didn’t WOW my socks off. Not that I did his either, but…
How It Ended: He bought my lunch (I offered and he declined) and we walked out to the parking lot. He walked me to my car. We hugged and went opposite directions.
Chances Are: 50/50. Not sure how he feels and I feel so/so about him. IF he asks me out again I’ll go, for sure, but I’m not positive that he’s going to…even though he was highly complimentary of me.
