Diaper Free?! in Pregnancy Journal

OMG I am SO excited to learn about this.
So the only really big thing I’m super NOT looking forward to is changing diapers. It’s not like I expect to change NO diapers at all, but like 20 per day? That seems excessive. Anything that puts a dent in that number has my vote. Times 10.
I can’t believe I never thought about this, but diaper free sounds amazing. Okay, to be clear, your baby will NOT be 100% diaper free… probably not even 10%. Realistically, the method just reduces the number of diapers you actually have to change. Infants and babies still wear diapers pretty much all the time.
The process is pretty simple. It’s based on timing and cues. lol. Sort of like training your horse (or dog). When baby goes, you associate it with a sound, usually pssss sound or grunting for poo. You observe when your baby usually goes. And, as early as a few days old, simply hold baby over a potty and make the noise. Before naps. After naps. Before feeding. After feeding. Just before going in the seat. Just after coming out of the seat. Etc etc.
Note; I’m not talking about potty training. It’s pretty clear that a child must be pretty independent in movement to be potty trained, so that’s not really the goal or purpose. Just to reduce the number of soiled diapers, and therefore, a kid that is dryer and happier.

In other news. I feel I found myself again. My lawd that heat wave was HORRID. This week has been a pleasant and lovely 70 to 75 degrees. Aaaagh. I just want to sigh and enjoy it.

My boy Dixie somehow mangled his tail completely to death. Sad, because it was so long and nice. I’ll have to cut it nearly halfway off :’(
My farrier brought an assistant today and she was asking about him =o I sort of gave up on actively trying to sell him last month, and since the heat, I haven’t worked him at all. He is just a naturally very handsome boy though, and even with bad feet and a gnarly ass tail, he’s just drop dead gorgeous. He did really well today for me again. He’s always good. He deserves someone who’s going to use him.

Hmm. Tomatoes are ripening. I ate them all already. Nothing compares to garden tomatoes with a little salt. drools

Oh. Last week I went in for labs to be drawn. The tech looked over my order and told me (jokingly I think) ‘I’m gonna bleed you dry’ and proceeded to gather at least a dozen tubes. Now, I know that I usually don’t do good with blood- not my own blood anyways. Surprisingly though I was fine. Until she took off the tourniquet.
She looked at me with concern, and said ‘you just turned a whole ‘nuther color’ and I knew I was about to pass out. I think I might’ve, but not sure. 3 nurses rushed in with smelly junk and cold towels. I felt awful. I sweated like a pig; like buckets of sweat. It was gross, and I remember I kept apologizing for it.
Uhg. It probably took like 10 minutes for me to feel okay. Then they wanted a pee sample and I got out of there, still all shaky and feeling sick. Embarrassing.
