Happy Thursday night, everybody! in Not-So-Hum-Dingers

I have been astonished all day that it is already Thursday.

I can remember many rambling entries back in my Open Diary about how I wish I could speed up time and all of that impatient business, but that was a foolish want. I'm realizing that every moment is precious because there will never be another one exactly like it ever again.

Work has been cool. Felicita left us for supposedly greener pastures in some other state (I don't remember which one, Vermont, I think?), and we got a new cook named Meredith who is pretty all right. She's a divorced mother with a son, and has called in to say that she can't work a little bit on the too-much side, and I'm not sure if she'll be sticking around for very long, but one never really knows things like that until something happens.

I'm just more and more grateful every time I walk in the door at the back of the building and put my apron on and get to work. Today was super-busy, but I rocked the dishes and cut up two pans of potatoes into home fries, keeping busy because they are not paying me to stand there and chit-chat with customers or my coworkers. I love working at work, and life is a lot easier when I'm focused on what I have to do rather than caring what other people are doing.

I'm also falling more and more in love with Sezzie and Ashley every day, I am part of the most awesome family in the world. They went to the playground today and were around other children, and I'm just so proud of them both for going out and doing something. Ashley is such an intelligent little girl, and it's endless fun interacting with her, and I'm so grateful that I get to be her daddy.

That's pretty much what's been going on in my neck of the woods.
