Smorgasbord Delicti in Life After 60

Justice is neither quick or blind. And with today’s technology, you are no longer presumed innocent until proven guilty. Big Brother is not only watching you but recording you without your permission. But then if you choose to shop at your local Walmart I am sure you surrender all rights when you enter the parking lot.
The right to remain silent is a privilege I wish some would remember to exercise before posting on social media. Would I want a jury of my peers? Probably not. But I can assure I wouldn’t want a jury of today’s generation either.
Does the punishment always fit the crime? I guess that depends on if you are receiving the punishment and extending it. I know we have to have laws to protect us but every now and then someone makes a mistake and the whole case is dismissed for failure to follow all the rules.
And then there is the way things have changed just in general. Things we could do as kids are now illegal. Statements we used to make will now land you in jail. We want free speech until it offends us, then we want censorship. Politics aside, there would be no evening news and facebook would be a friendly place to catch up with family and friends without fear of offending someone.
If you are a Buddist you have religious rights. Try that as a Christian and they want to suppress your rights. Yet the likes of Howard Stern can freely voice their discontent for whatever the cause is this week.
History repeats its self. That is a scary thought seeing how some of the things that took place in this country could happen again. Racism is alive and well in this country. Hatred is prevalent.
I have given serious thought to running for State Representative of Oklahoma, but I am afraid one of my former girlfriends would come forward and say I touched her inappropriately. Some days I am afraid to even tell a co-worker of the opposite sex they look nice or smell nice. For that matter, you can offend someone just by walking into a room.

I have been reading you since the new group merged with PB. I agree so much with this entry. I told my son back in the 90s (he was just out of high school) that he could never run for president. Upset him and he asked me why. I told him he didn't have a criminal record.

If a politician is not a criminal when elected they become one shortly after. Absolute power corrupts, absolute. Hope some of my ramblings either entertain or help.
