Out of my many years as an adult, there are very few years I actually took a vacation. Oh, I took the required time off but seldom went anywhere. This year is no different. This year I didn’t go because I hate going by myself. So I am working on my cabin.
When I am not working on the cabin I am playing music. I wish I had someone to play with but my somewhat hermit lifestyle doesn’t seem to be in the cards. So occasionally I break out the 24 track recorder and lay down some tracks. I keep thinking one day lighten will strike and I will get my big break.
So maybe with 8 more days off, I will find the time to work on my music. I would say it keeps sane and out of trouble but that would be an alternative truth. And as Mark Chesnutt croons, It’s too hot to fish, too hot to golf, and too cold at home. (Oh, that was in a former life, home is good. And next year, which for me starts July 1, I will have four weeks vacation and 56 comp hours to take before next July. I have got to get a life!
