Everybodies favorite season.....Tax Season in From the mouth of madness

I don't normally talk, much less write, about politics or about our countries state of affairs so this will be one of those rare occasions and feel free to comment, add to or take from or just give your own thoughts and/or opinions afterwards. As the title suggest, this is tax season. A time for not only CPA's to pull their hair out by the numbers but for everyone else to do the same. A time that everyone is trying to get back as much money as they can from the feds or atleast just break even while at the same time the feds, IRS, is trying to keep or get even more of our hard earned money. It's like a game of cat and mouse. There are those people that are laughing during this time because they don't have to worry about taxes because they are here working illegally and don't pay taxs but more on that in just a minute. Several years ago there was a measure introduced that would make income tax obsolete and completely do away with our individual yearly insane filings and that measure was/is a national sales tax, aka the Fair Tax. Naturally, our "powers that be", set up a committee and studied the measure and in their infinite wisdom said the idea wouldn't work mainly due to the fact that it would cause our country to loose revenue because the income tax would produce more monetary intake than a national sales tax would. Now hold the phone and let's just take a quick look at the difference between the two taxes. An income tax is a tax on "reported" income that "MOST" people pay whereas a national sales tax is a tax that "EVERYBODY" pays for goods and/or services. Did you notice the 2 key words here and that being MOST and EVERYBODY??? It is said that the average amount of income tax withheld/paid in is between 20-25%. The Fair Tax aka national sales tax would be 23%. Income tax paid by most working people verses a sales tax paid by all. If we have people that are in our country illegally and working and not paying an income tax, how much revenue do you think our government is missing out on. The Fair Tax would put a stop to it and everyone, including the illegals, would be paying therefore it would seem that would be an increase in revenue and not a loss. It would also put an end to those outrageous refunds that a lot of people get back on their returns. Those refunds where someone might have only paid in $500 but get a refund for $5,000 or more. It is common knowledge that if a person has more money in their wallet/purse that they are more inclined to spend more and if they spend more then what does that tell you??? Our country is quickly becoming more in debt to others, mainly China, and unless something changes very soon our countries new motto will be Made In China. The fair Tax could help us get out of debt to others and ALLLLLLL those illegals would be helping to contribute too. The time to act is now. This is an election year and time for a change. Even tho it might not seem like it for the most part but the power is in OUR hands to bring change and it is within OUR power to FIRE our elected officials that continue to strive to promote their own agenda instead of the peoples that put them in office. In closing, I would just like to say lets take back what is ours and that is our country. I don't want to be stamped "MADE IN CHINA" damn it.*
