New Position in The Workplace Affair

Well, of course the General manager at my day job needs a new assistant and wants to recruit within. He comes to me, whom was working at the front desk at the time, to see if I would like the position. It all started so fast from knowing that the position was available to interviewing and then actually starting. Here I am in a new office, new people and getting used to this 9-5 weekday schedule. As days, turns into weeks I finally feel more comfortable and start making office friends. My desk sits just outside of an office that is occupied by two sales managers. Immediately they reminded me of some college friends just about 10 years older, married and have children.
I often hung out in their office and joked around with them as I felt they were some of the only people in this office that I could actually joke around with and not have to be a young professional at all times. I liked this as this is my first office job and it was taking a bit to get used to. One of the sales managers is very handsome and has away about how he carries himself. I often would catch comments that were more flirtatious than others. There was a tree lighting ceremony event at our work during the holidays and I brought a couple of my closest girlfriends. By this time I had made a few jokes about this coworker so my girlfriends were aware of the attraction I had towards him. Well who would have thunk that I ran into him, with his 3 children and wife. He didn’t hesitate to stop and show me the pictures his kids took with our on-site Santa. I guess I felt a little awkward knowing my attraction and the comments I’ve made about him and now standing there in front of his wife and her looking directly into my eyes.
Let’s fast forward to February. The other sales manager in his office was done with the hotel and sales world and has decided to move onto bigger and better things. At this time I found myself in their office a lot more as I was heading out of town during my coworkers last day of work so they grabbed my number to “FaceTime me while I was on vacation”.. yeah right. I get a call on my phone from our work and answer it. It is my good looking, flirtatious coworker asking me to grab a drink with him after work. I’m not an idiot, I knew in the back of my mind this is going to be a bad idea but there was something in me that wanted to prove it. I wanted to know the facts just not assume. Stupid, I know.
