Sensible-Me in Adventures in paradise

Writing my first entry from the new phone 😁
I’ve been playing around with it a lot last night. There’s so many features I’m not used to. The fact it ‘beautifies’ photos by default is pretty cool, but of course you can change it, but why would I want to? I’m only getting uglier as I age!

The housemate had a bunch of friends over last night. I was invited by his boyfriend to join in drinking wine with them, which was nice, but it was the night before the beginning of my work-week, so it was terrible timing for sensible-me, and sensible-me is incredibly boring. Instead, I spent the night cloning my old phone to my new phone, so they prob thought I was very antisocial, which I am lol. I got to hear my housemate interacting comfortably with his mates and boyfriend. We certainly don’t do that. I mean, I’m certainly not on that level with him, nor he with me. But I don’t care at the moment. I’m content that we get along well as housemates.

Initially I had some issues trying to transfer my phone, but once I realised I needed to disconnect from the apartment wifi, it worked fine. Then I just swapped the sim over and I’m right back at it 😀
I was too scared to keep it in my pocket at work, as I’m in and out of sub temperatures so I kept it in my locker. I’m sure I will relax after a little while.

I’ve started incorporating squats into my workouts, but because I’m not used to them, my shoulders really hurt from the bar being on them. There wasn’t even much weight added. I’m racking my brain to think of a better way to work my glutes. Deadlifts are an option but man, I think my technique sucks. I would only do them if the gym was empty, which it rarely is. I did the donkey kicks later on which are good but very basic without added weight, but my legs did not like the leg press after those squats. I’m guessing that’s the lactic acid that athlete’s go on about? And now my shoulders don’t like me and I could go a massage. That’s what I get for not positioning the bar properly 🙄
I am taking it easy at the gym though. Thanks for the concern. It’s lighter weights with shorter sessions, but I need to make it a routine. Mental health is my number one reason for gymming. I just ‘feel’ better, ya know?

I like my haircut too. It’s still got some length but it’s manageable. The bad thing about keeping length is it grows back to where it was faster, but hey it’s just what I like. I had a new hairdresser again but still went to the same salon. She was really nice. I forget her name.

I will take more photos when I play around with this camera a bit more.

You can try squatting with a trap bar. That way you're lifting the weight with your arms instead of carrying it on your shoulders.

Thanks hon, I just looked up a vid on how to use it. I see it at gym but haven't used it.

You'll love it. I use a trap bar to do squats & dead-lifts. Just watch your form particularly with your back. Shoulders back, back straight.

I could never squat with a bar because even if I was supporting the weight with my arms, the pressure on the back of my neck always hurt. You could hold a kettlebell or dumbells. Then you could also work your arms at the same time.

Kettlebells look like a good idea. I just have to figure out technique cos I'm not used to using them.
