Bible Reading: “But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.” 1 John 2:11.
This is one of the most powerful verses in the holy scriptures, that tells about one’s spiritual stature, status, and acquaintanceship; Firmness in intimacy, steadfastness in faith and relationship strength or fellowshipping stand with God. I will want you to be calm enough and readily available with all attentiveness, because this teaching will causes a dramatic spiritual change beyond expectations, gives strength to the feeble, and brings healings on wavered faith as long as you have them soaked and digested into your spiritual system.
I need you to recognize this plain truth: you may be anointed and yet blinded. Powers and wonders may still be flowing, but your Being eye may as well be waxing old unto blindness. You may be a praying, tounging and fasting machine and yet still be blinded.
Blindness can find expression within or without the faith community, it has no restriction on this surface of the land of living or any other spheres, as long as its inhabitants are with eyes and sights, they can be it’s victim. Irrespective of who they are, miracle workers anointed healers, powerful preachers, great evangelists, firing prophets, whosoever, even Jesus was approached by the tempter to blindscrew his Being. He said, “If thou be the Son of God?…” This is an absolute statement to doubt the personality God spoke about Jesus to him and before many during his baptism, forty days after. Hallelujah!
Judas Iscariot was not just an ordinary disciple, but also a treasurer in the ministry and yet, despite his daily walk with Christ, his encounter with the messiah, his privileged of grace and taste of the kingdom: healing the sick and casting out demons, when sent for evangelism, yet darkness covered, blinded and overtook his Being. What a great lesson to note.
Bible tells us that, one third of the stars were blinded by the red dragon. Angels were deceived and caused to leave their estates and rebelled against God.
“And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.
12:4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born…
12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him…” Revelation 12:3.
There are times I knew that my mind eye is at a dimension waxing dull, because there is still this weakness that finds expression within me seldomly, despite the level of self discipline I built, and promises of concrete steadfastness I made severally.
There is this truth about you, that you are yet to discover, please do as you read through. I wouldn’t want you to miss a single line of this teaching, and I pray may that our eyes of understanding be enlightened today.
Expounding our Bible reading
“[But he that HATETH…] The word ‘hate’ used in this verse is the direct opposite of the word ‘love’. And this is part of what I understood by love. Through love, man:
- becomes Christ’s friend (John 15: 14,17).
- Overcomes all sins (1Peter 4: 8).
- Knows and abides in God (1John 4: 8,16) etc. In simplicity, when a Christian practice hatred, this depicts the fact that, he is not of or for Christ, never knew God nor have a place in Him, and as well that multitude of sin will continually find and opening and grounding within him. This result to his blindings and loyalty to the kingdom to darkness. Apostle Paul says at Ephesus,
” Be ye angry, and SIN not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil.” Ephesians 4:26-27. This made it clear that through sin, Satan has foothold and sufficient legality to errect and structure a demonic stronghold within a man by default. This is why, yesterday sisters’ coordinator of a fellowship may be seen as today’s slay mama, a pastor may as well be an adulterer, or a well known deliverance minister, who had delivered many souls from the spirit of fornications, still being hooked up and become an addicted masturbator. Hatred or not loving is a spiritual force which switch or transfer by default, man’s allegiance from the kingdom of light to that of darkness.

1 John 1:5 says “This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.” when man hates, he wouldn’t be able to abide in God, just exactly as darkness had no place in Him, so he automatically lives and walks in darkness. Because he could not by love be joined with Christ. Jesus says in John 15:6 about relationship and compatibility; as He mentioned that a point in time shall come when those who couldn’t find expression in Him will be cut off by the father and have their estates, share their fates with darkness. They are cut off away from the path of righteouness to a blind path of darkness.
[and KNOWETH not] blindness fashions and maintain ignorance in its victims. And with ignorance (lack of knowledge) destruction is made alive.
[whither he GOETH, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.”]
blindness diverts direction, it does not hindersit, it manipulates it; when the eyes of one’s understanding is darkened, the legalities of demonic features and products become unconditionally acceptable, no need for his endorsement or opinion. it is spiritually programmed, causing the victims to joyfully serve under the influence and reign of deception.
THE BLINDED BEING
The word blind means: A covering or viel to keep out light or vision; without seeing, having no visibility or being sightless.
Failing to see, acknowledge, perceive; being at a dead end; darkened, concealed, obscured, hidden.
Being without any prior knowledge, Unintelligible or illegible; misleading the eyes, understanding or comprehension.
Lack of moral discernment; mental darkness ignorance, heedlessness.
The expression ‘blindness’ came up in the scripture several times, and this we will be looking shortly with references.
Physical Blindness that comes by age
“And Jeroboam’s wife did so, and arose, and went to Shiloh, and came to the house of Ahijah. But Ahijah could not see; FOR HIS EYES WERE SET BY REASON OF HIS AGE.” 1 Kings 14:4
Spiritual Blindness by one’s deed (1 John 2:11)
“Behold, here I am: witness against me before the LORD, and before his anointed: whose ox have I taken? or whose ass have I taken? or whom have I defrauded? whom have I oppressed? or of whose hand HAVE I RECEIVED ANY BRIBE TO BLIND MINE EYES THEREWITH? and I will restore it you.” 1 Samuel 12:3
Spiritual Blindness by embracing false, evil and darkness above truth, good and light. (John 3: 19-21)
“Bring forth the blind people that have eyes, and the deaf that have ears.” Isaiah 43:8
Physical blindness from birth
“And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was BLIND FROM HIS BIRTH.” John 9:1

“And, behold, two blind men sitting by the way side, when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David.” Matthew 20:30
blindness facilitated by darkness
“Then was brought unto him one POSSESSED WITH A DEVIL, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.” Matthew 12:22.
“And he cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man unto him, and besought him to touch him. 8:23 And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought. 8:24 And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking. 8:25 After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly. 8:26 And he sent him away to his house, saying, Neither go into the town, nor tell it to any in the town.” Mark 8: 22-25.
I once shared with us three things that affects man in all spheres of life: time, companions and environment. Jesus saw a need to take this man out of the town he was, to restore his sight. Today, many are blinded by intimidation. There are upcoming Generals who lost their visions by the reason of where they choose to stay, or who they are visiting. The environment of a man is influential to either make or mar him. Some are set on fire at campus, but when they mingled with others at service year, they became cold, dogs, swines and the like. Some are with decency and moral standard from home, but when they enter campuses, blindness befall them. Bible reads that this man besought Jesus to touch him, but Jesus led him out of that town before he could do anything, and he as well instructed him not to return there after he was healed, But rather sent him back to his house. That town is not his home, it is not a place for the man to survive. There is a place you are now, that has moulded you to become an ambassador of evil, there is a place you are now that is draining you spiritual stamina, you are the type that engaged in some things and your conscience seldomly tells you that it is not fair for a Christian habits, but you blindly join the queue of the fallen who will say, grace is sufficient. why don’t you think it through today and come back to Christ. It is very essential that after seeing, you shouldn’t try to visit there again, no matter what. Despite the fact that Jesus led him out of the town, Jesus still need to repeat his self twice, before the man’s sight could be restored perfectly. Blindness is the foundation and at the same time the banner of demonic strongholds.
“But the men put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to them, and shut to the door. 19:11 And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door.” Genesis 19:10-11
A blinded being will suffer way forward, progress, new things and spiritual blessings from the Lord, because he could not find the door and as well knew not where he is or where he is going; no direction, no vision, no destination. Some families have been blinded that their lives only walk in a circle; nothing new, great or good had ever surfaced for years. They are under the strong influence of structured calamities or diverse torments from the kingdom of darkness. When man’s mind is blinded darkness find expression; we will talk more on this later. The only riches that can surface to a blinded Being is to be stucked, limited, stagnated, or walking in a same route all days, either pleasing or not, he has no choice.
When a Being is blinded, he wearied himself to find the door. When people see opportunities, he can only perceive problems. His consciousness would never be able to read that, challenges is the food of a champion, and as well that tests always brings testimonies, so it will be easy for him to get off track, because of the present unfavorable circumstance and stormy situation. Apostle Paul said to the Romans that he is a lover of God, a man of light that cannot be persuaded, tempted, compelled or forced by the vital forces of darkness to part away from God. He is so bold that he challenged the heavenlies, the gross and thick darkness, by the power of light in him, he knew all will surely cooperate to manifest his goodness. (Romans 8: 35-39, 28)
I will say, the integrity of our love for God will determine the degree of our light with Him. It takes light to maintain our fellowship with God and also to sustain our intimacy with Him. John the beloved said in his first epistle, the fifth verse of the first chapter that a man in darkness have no place in Him.
Note this truth, life does not comes smoothly sometimes as we may expected, no matter who you are or your degree of anointing, there will surely be some headaches and times when it will seems to be a little rough, but thanks for his grace that is sufficient to those who are light bearers. With the presence of God in man, every crooked paths will be laid straight. What are you passing through now, what has come over your home, marriage, business. What has surfaced over your academics, spiritual and physical life that looks so strongly challenging. Jesus had said, be expecting such, and don’t be discouraged or embittered, rather be of good cheer because he has overcome the world. A time like this is bound to come, but you must not be blinded, defeated or taken captive by them.
“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33.
“And it came to pass, that when Isaac was old, and his eyes were dim, so that he could not see, he called Esau his eldest son, and said unto him, My son: and he said unto him, Behold, here am I… 27:21 And Isaac said unto Jacob, Come near, I pray thee, that I may feel thee, my son, whether thou be my very son Esau or not. 27:22 And Jacob went near unto Isaac his father; and he felt him, and said, The voice is Jacob’s voice, but the hands are the hands of Esau. 27:23 AND HE DISCERNED HIM NOT, because his hands were hairy, as his brother Esau’s hands: so he blessed him…”
Genesis 27: 1- 46.
When a being is blinded, confussion solidifies, this is strategic, read carefully. A blinded being cannot see, even though he hears. Many have heard from men of God or even by themselves those good things God said about them, you have heard His covenant about you in the holy scriptures, we have heard prophetically His promises for our lives and thoughts towards us individually, as a ministry or as a home. I need you to know that even though you have heard well, right, and convincingly, if you are a blinded being, you cannot see it. Isaac heard correctly and felt correctly, but he couldn’t confirm all these with his eye.
“But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” 1 Corinthians 2:14
Spiritual blindfolding have caused so much queueing prophecies, promises, or covenants without fulfillment. Though they have been uttered, but is delayed. Though they have been said, but cannot manifest. Blindness is hazardous. It delays, distracts and diverts every supernatural blessings; no blinded being can receive from God except he is firstly reconciled. God does not relate with what He cannot tolerate.
A blinded being cannot discern rightly, so it becomes easy and simple for manipulative spirit to expressly manifest himself. Isaac was tricked, deceived, played by his younger son, even though he heard the voice of Jacob and secondly the body he held spoke of Esau. What a lesson to learn, because of his Being status, he could not discern and was easily manipulated. Sightless ministry or ministers with no vision is opened to lack of discernment, line of deception and danger of manipulations. From this end, problem arises, the ground of guess work, heresies, trial and error, falsehood principles and doctrines strongly formulates in the ministry.
Spiritual intentions and agenda remains veiled to God’s ministers anytime his mind eye begins to wax dim. This is why I will take time to explain little about mindset lateron in this teaching. Memorise this saying: A man is blinded because his mind his diverted and a man is bonded because his mind is blinded. Mind oils intimacy, compatibility, relationship, and fellowshipping. When the intentions of God is expressed, it can only be read and downloaded by a spiritual minded being. The mind of God is not for just doctrinal, denominational or religious fanatics, except they are spiritually minded as well. Genesis 18: 17, the scripture reads “Genesis 18:17 And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do.” God reveals His intention to His intimated being.
It is clearly seen that misconceptions, misrepresentations and misinterpretations has been the order of the atmosphere in today’s Christian hood, as people try to study history in order to understand the mystery of the word. The mind of God could not be read and understood, because many of the leaders and their followers could not see. Blindings everywhere!
Isaiah 56:10 says “His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.”
Errors, divisions, dogmas and heresies are now rooted deeply in the so called body of Christ, because some who are leading are blinded and their follower left themselves with no choice, people have chosen to read pastors instead of bible, they felt pleased to listen to message tapes always and totally forgot the place of the greatest spiritual teacher. We need to cry out for recovering of vision and restoring of sights. Matthew 15:14 says “Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.”
When we read through Genesis 27, we would see that Isaac could think straight, but could not see right. With this, he knew the right thing but could not see them been achieved appropriately, all because of his Being status. You have plans, targets, ambitions, or goals; all these are good and awesome, but if your mind eye is blinded towards God, you won’t see them appropriately manifesting. You need to accept that ambition is zero in quantity and nothing in quality when compared to vision. Vision is no man’s product, it is manufactured by God, distributed by Him and can only be consumed by the spiritual minded being. (Joel 2:28; 1 Cor 2:14).
My ambitious fellow, success and prosperity may be determined by what you put in place, but it can only be guaranteed when God is put in place. There are things needed to be fixed to guarantee success and which cannot be done by blinded being who is endowed with darkened understanding, these set of things calls for spiritual wisdom. I will like you to come to this truth that success, riches, distinction and prosperity are spiritual blessings. They are neither the products of man’s effort, nor the fruits of man’s labour. Just as you know or think that there are principles guiding success, as same I convincingly tell you today that there is always a permission to grant it. Success don’t just come, it must be granted, no successful man on earth had his success without spiritual back up. He may not be able to answer when or how, because some are covenanted while others are promised, but there is always a granting from the spirit realm. Ask for a teaching on spiritual blessing, it will help you to understand more on this aspect. To be successful without sorrows, we needed to be spiritually minded and not blinded. Truly to be ambitious is good, but having vision formulated and approved by God is better.
The BLINDED BEING
Before bindings will hold, there must at first be blindings. When a man’s life is opened to the word of God, there can’t be any openings or loops for Satan to get in. Satan voices and images may keep disturbing, but for the fact that the man is a word addict and word observer, they will be resisted and defeated. I come know by the revelatory power of the word that darkness have no resident in the light, it cannot comprehend the light nor overcome it. And this light is given to man whose life is submissive to God’s word (John 1:1-5; Psalms 119: 105). This is more of the reason a carnal man is bonded to death, because his mind has been blinded.
Romans 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
You may have the knowledge of God but does it find expression in you. It is not enough that people call us pastors or several names that expresses man as God’s generals, if we are not spiritual minded, Apostle Peter said we are blinded being (2 Peter 1: 5-10). What a great list that makes a man to be fruitful, eyes active and spirit sound.
2 Corinthians 4:3-4 “But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 4:4 In whom the GOD OF THIS WORLD HATH BLINDED THE MINDS OF THEM WHICH BELIEVE NOT, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”
Most of the times, you see people arguing with the word of God, some will even nearly called Christ and His apostle a liar or joker. What a blinded soul. When God’s instruction is passed across, there believe not that it can be exercised. This is Viel released from pit of hell to cause many to operate below heaven standard. Perfection, intimacy, holiness, righteousness, all seems to be impossible to us even though God’s spirit instructed us living them.
There is this another common problem with those whose acceptance of the word are limited to memorising alone. Memorising scriptural verses are good, but it is not enough as a foundation to build our enlightenment, we must also be delighted in meditating on it. Memorising without meditation and continually acting on God’s word, speaks of darkened understanding which will automatically result to an unfruitful knowledge. Apostle Peter said, Any man operation from this point of spirituality is a blinded Being. People who are well versed, knowledgeable and may be eloquent, but the spiritual thoughts, disposition and intention of God couldn’t find expression in their whole being. What are we celebrating individually? Colossians 3: 16-17.
The lips’ level and the mind’s level. These are two different things, the mind is so powerful that without it, none of either conformity to the world or transformation by the word can be processed. When darkness captured the minds, the whole being becomes blind. We have ministers who ministered powerfully, teaches spiritual principles but they themselves don’t exercise, I once preached to the church in a gathering and found myself defected in this area. Look out on Eve, who puts the word of God on her lips, she has the memory, and well versed but not conscious of it. Whenever I read this portion of the holy scriptures and look round, I do pity those who follows denominational principles and doctrines blindly, putting their spirit to confusion about God’s instructions. They could not take a break to ask God about it. Through this blindings they became bonded.
See this, confusion is a manisfestation resulted from the involvement and operation of darkness; the plain flag of blindness and symbol of veil. While conviction is the manifestation resulted from the involvement and operation of light, the plain banner of truth and symbol of revelation.
When a man is confused spiritually or physically, let him go before God and not friends and with divine answers, he will gets his conviction. Many marital journeys, academics, homes, business is not a success because they their owner has been blinded, now operating under spell and bounds of failure. There is a solution today, read on.
Before binding will hold, blinding must first manifest. Spiritual demolition is the side effect of being blinded spiritually. When one’s spiritual mind eye is lost, the mystery of death finds a ground to be unveiled. Mind is very crucial in the spirit settings. A way or thought is known, discerned or expressed through the mind. Without the holdings, formulations or establishment from the mind, there won’t be an act. You heard Jesus saying, out of the abundance of heart mouth speaks. There are lots of words deposited in the heart, but the thought for them must have come through the mind. The mind has channel to our head, heart, spirit and as well been effectual upon our soul. When Solomon said, “As man thinks in his heart so he is.” This is not man’s thought but man’s principles. (request for our teaching on abundance of heart) More of the reasons he said, so he is and not so it is. The principles that governs man’s heart pattern his living. What houses thought, consciousness, perception, awareness, or intentions in man is his mind. We have heard Apostle Paul keeps mentioning minds here and there, times without number in it’s triple dimensions: a carnal mind, a spiritual mind and natural Mind. The mind of a man is the platform that establish his culture (way of life), status (stand in life), status (levels in life) and act (deeds in life).
Not until the mind of God was revealed to Moses His act was not established. What a meditation to all ministers of God. I have seen Christians who are crying for power but are not delighted in the word of God. what a shame! Moses could bring the acts, power, miracle of God before the people because he spent time studying the mind of God. Now the holy scriptures read, “He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.” Psalms 103. The ways of God is fashioned in His mind and brings about power. Not until the mind of God is spiritually discerned and faithfully clinged to by us. It won’t find an expression. Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” This seems not to be fulfilled because you couldn’t spiritually discerned it. 2 Cor 2: 12-14.
Many have translations of the word and not the transformation, the letter killeth but the spirit gives life. Not until you are spiritually minded, all the intentions of God. (Spirit John 4:24) cannot find expression in you. It is not just about connection, it is more of compatibility. There might be a way to manoveur connection sometimes but there is no hide, short, and fast way around getting compatible. The knowledge of being spiritual is one of the most destestables fact in today’s Christian society, most especially amidst her youths. I have seen churches, fellowships,or ministries who have never teach, train, show, practice or impart in to their congregations, how to live and walk in the spirit. They may read it aloud as bible lessons, reference, theme for a program, but limited to letters alone.
There are thousands of prophetic ministries operating under the influence and with the standard of reprobacy. What a picture of mournings! (Romans 1:28; 2 Corinthians 13:5; Titus 1:16). This is not a sugar coating matter, but reality. You see men celebrating their denominational dogma even without demonstrations of power. Timing given to announcement is nearly of same with the one given to sermon and congregations are restfully adapted to it with all convenience. Where are those who delighted in nothing else compared to the word of God? May the Lord deliver us. Why will darkness find not is opening and enthronement, when souls are getting tired of the word which gives light. There are more to be penned on blinded, reprobate, corrupt soul, being or mind. Relying on God for absolute grace to do so.
I need you to know that the only absolute solution to man’s spiritual blindness is Jesus. If he is taken in to man’s life as the Lord and Christ, he will surely heal such from his spiritual deficiencies. John said in the first chapter of his gospel about Jesus, the fourth verse that he is the light of all men. A man without him is in total darkness.
Luke 7: 21-22, “And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and UNTO MANY THAT WERE BLIND HE GAVE SIGHT. 7:22 Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that THE BLIND SEE, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.” see Matthew 15: 30-31 also.
- You discovered as a minister or was cautioned by others through observation or vision. Find anointed man of God, with sound eye for prayer and counselling. Two friends of mine once told me with at least three years interval, two different spiritual starve I was permitting. Bless God over the companion I kept. See Proverbs 27: 17.
“THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS UPON ME, BECAUSE HE HATH ANOINTED me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, AND RECOVERING OF SIGHT TO THE BLIND, to set at liberty them that are bruised,… 4:21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.” Luke 4:18-21.
- Deception, lukewarmness, weariness has taken over your life spiritually, you felt sluggish when about to pray, read the word or any related spiritual edifying writings. Cry in faith unto Jesus now for perfection strength and restoration.
Matthew 9:27 And when Jesus departed thence, TWO blind men followed him, CRYING, AND SAYING, THOU SON OF DAVID, HAVE MERCY ON US. 9:28 And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, BELIEVE YE THAT I AM ABLE TO DO THIS? They said unto him, Yea, Lord.
Matthew 9:29 Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you. 9:30 And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See that no man know it.” See Mark 10: 46-52 also
