Dad's memorial birthday dinner, rained out in Misadventures of West Virginia Woman

Today is my dad’s birthday since dad died mom wanted someone to celebrate dad’s life with her. I brought my friend Tella to moms we ate chicken nuggets and mom told us memories about dad. Sometimes she cried or laughed. I told mom i want to give her and dad a present by building her the swing she wanted. Mom thanked us. Dad and her loved sitting on a swing together during the summer holding hands listening to the crickets and frogs. When the swing broke mom was heartbroken. They were married over 37 years when he passed.

Tella and i went outside put the parts out for the new swing and started building. We tried to read the directions often confused where things went. My mom giggled at as while we argued which one me or Tella had any idea what we are doing. Mom went back in the wind got really strong Tella and i pulled it under the porch and started working. Both her and i got soaking wet from the rain. We finished most of the project but got rained out! Tella and i ran in the house covered in mud. I will finish the swing on a dryer day!

Mom luckily had a dress in Tella’s size. Tella was delighted when mom told her keep the purple dress. Tella took a shower in moms shower. After she was done i took a shower and borrowed a spare dress. While our clothes dried from being washed mom played with her rubics cube asking if we could take her fishing this summer. She talked about her wanting us to take her yardsaling and Tella asked if she like to join the exercise classes we attend. Tella was delighted when mom said she is her adopted mom she invited to visit anytime.

My mom was upset during the misadventures of building moms swing my multiple color dress got caught and tore. Mom offered to buy me a new dress. I told her don’t worry i can sew my dress. Mom taught to sew as a little girl. A tear will not stop me from wearing that dress once again. It just need repaired.

Before i went to dad’s memorial dinner for his birthday Tella and i went to church. At Church they were discussing Motivation and Personal Ability. Levi has bad gout that paralyzed him. With exercise and determination he went from a wheelchair to running 21 mile marathons. I chose to take Tella because since she decided to get healthy she lost 9 pounds. She likes to go to free events. Levi does events called Active Southern West Virginia where people can exercise, go paddle boarding, hiking and other activities. Levi works at Ace Adventure Resort in Oak Hill as a professional hiking guide. I hope he motivate Tella to continue her healthy lifestyle. She really enjoyed church. I think Tella and i going start going to Levi’s events. I go to exercise classes with Tella because we often have a lot of fun.

In my hometown of Beckley WV people have been crocheting designs on trees. Tella and i stopped at Appalachain Regional Hospital took pictures under the crochet tree. Tella thought it was amusing that the trees bright colors matched my colorful patch dress. People gave us strange looks posing for pictures with the tree. We didnt care. Why blend in? When you were born to stick out!

My other best friend Amanda Dawn wanted to go to dad’s memorial dinner. After Amanda almost getting in a fist fight with Tella on my birthday i try to keep them seperated as possible! If they start a fight at mom’s house they would only do it once! Mom’s old school parent adult or not if you misbehave she will take you over her knee! As bad as i would laugh seeing this i decided keep this afternoon peaceful as possible!

Ollies has me working a whole 10 hours this week. I wish i had more hours but i am not complaining just glad i have a job. I need to plan what my friends and family growing in dads memorial garden. I am behind on my gardening during prettier days i will bring my friends out to play in dirt.

On a day off i am not at mom’s growing her garden i need to work on my flower boxes beside my mobile home. I am really behind on my chores.

I am going to bed to sleep some both me and my husband Talan work tomorrow.. Night!
