I’ve been called insane and crazy for the music I listen to. How can you listen to that it’s all screams they would say. The truth is that they never tried to understand those screams, those screams that taught me to be myself, those screams that gave me hope in the dark, those screams that made me believe that for a second I wasn’t alone. You may think Heavy metal and rock music and hard rock and punk music is for the crazy and the insane, for the troubled youth. But the truth is that this music is what gets kids out of bed, is what makes you stand up and rise above. Many songs pf other music genres nowadays may talk about drugs and alcohol and an excessive lifestyle. But Rock has always taught us to embrace ourselves rise back up, it taught us it’s ok to be yourself. It taught us you don’t have to smile when you don’t want to. It’s ok to be sad and happy. But most importantly Rock helped me through my life, it never abandoned me it always listened to me and it never told me that what I was feeling was wrong. Instead, it told me they will be dark days and bright days but if you just believe if you just sing and scream and believe you’ll realize how beautiful life is. So that’s why I listen to those screams because every goddamn day they save my life, every day I believe I’m not enough they tell me that I am and every day when I just want to shut out the world and be angry at it, I just put on my headphones and listen to the voice saying it’s ok to have bad days, maybe tomorrow will be better.
