We have 15 inches of snow on the ground right now, I'm so sick of snow and negative temperatures.
The groundhog saw his shadow...I was kind of hoping he would bite someone. I would bite someone if they pulled me out of hibernation just to put me on display. The whole thing is so dumb. The groundhog is adorable though.
I did not make the hip hop crew...well kind of. I told her that she as crazy if she took a chance on me. I effectively pulled myself out of the running. It's fine though. I want a little more training in that style before i commit to a dance crew. Right now, I feel like I look like a Contemporary dancer doing a hip hop dance. She's going to train me for the next couple of months, she wants me to re-audition in April....I haven't decided if I will.
We started auditioning pieces today for the May show. So far, all the choreographers, except one, want me in their dances. The director is retiring and so she opened up the choreography pool, and 8 people submitted proposals today. She looked at me and said "Where's yours?" I was like I'm not submitting one. She seemed disappointed and a little surprised. But really with 8 choreography proposals, why should I submit one? We aren't going to have time for all of them anyway.
We did an improv exercise today....admittedly, i suck at improv...but i think that is what the main choreographers piece is going to be this time. As much as I want to dance with her, I really don't want to do an improv piece. She will be the new director, when the current director resigns.
We are, with the local community college, doing a V-Day event. It's going to be a flash mob type thing. I love the cause, the dance is super simple because we're dealing with non-dancers. I'm excited for it to be over though because then we actually can get into some real dancing.

I'm not nervous about auditions, I'm not really sure why. Maybe it's because I know I'm already going to be cast in several dances. 4 Choreographers have already talked to me and put me in their dances without auditioning for the parts. Regardless, I still want to be the best in the room when they do audition us for their pieces. Today I helped with the main choreographers auditions, I volunteered. I was like "I could just do it with them so you can watch" It was crazy andn I hit 7 double turns in a row. I haven't done that in years. Felt good.
