99 Facts about Me

  1. I used to hate my middle name, Frances. A few years into dating Alex he adopted the pet name "Fran" for me. To this day he calls me Fran...all the time. I respond to it like it's my real name lol So, Frances has grown on me. I look at it lovingly now :)
  2. I am 27 years old. I'm turning 28 in June; growing older is a source of anxiety for me. But at the same time, I like the way 28 sounds.
  3. I live in Canada. And I'm proud of it!
  4. Alex and I have been together for over 10 years. A decade.
  5. Alex proposed last July, on our 10 year anniversary. He brought me back to our high school, where we met. He got down on his knee and proposed on the exact spot on the sidewalk outside the school where everything started. Our wedding date is set for September 27th 2014. :)
  6. I can honestly say that through it all, the good and the bad, I'm still very much in love. I am so blessed to be marrying my best friend this fall.
  7. I graduated from University of Guelph in April 2008 with a degree in History and Sociology (with Honours). Those 4 years were filled with some of the best moments of my life.
  8. I absolutely love history. I didn't even know it until I started university. I find it fascinating. My grandfather was obsessed with history also. He fought in WW2 (his ship was actually torpedoed- and he survived!). He used to talk about history and tell stories constantly. He passed away in 2004; I was 17. One regret in my life is not truly appreciating him and his stories when I had him around to hear them. It's funny how you perceive things so differently as you grow up.
  9. I graduated from York University with my Bachelor of Education in 2009. In late December of that year I was hired onto the current school board I work for. My career was set in motion on December 4th 2009.
  10. I have learned so much about myself during the past 4 years of teaching. It has taken me until now to actual say to myself, "you rock as a teacher!" I truly believe I have made a difference in some student's lives...and that's an amazing feeling!
  11. While I have developed confidence in my career, I am actually a very insecure person. I always have been...and probably always will be to a point.
  12. My favourite colour is purple. It's going to be our main accent colour at our Wedding.
  13. If I could only eat one meal for the rest of my life (and not get sick or fat from it) it would be cesar salad, garlic bread, roasted potatoes and some sort of parmesan breaded chicken. Drink would be a chocolate milk shake and desert would be moose-tracks ice cream.
  14. I absolutely LOVE music. I need to make more time for it these days.
  15. The bands that I could listen to over and over are: Nine Inch Nails, Our Lady Peace, Mumford and Suns, Moist, The Beatles, Tea Party, Korn, and a perfect circle. Interesting mix!

  25. I respect religion. I respect people who believe in a higher being and have faith. But I do not think that if there is a "God" he cares if we dress up every Sunday and "worship" him. Nor do I think he created "one" religion to follow. We're all human. I think people who find faith in themselves and find their own ways to speak/pray to a "God" are more "good" then any church going Christian.
