your eyes on me, not mine;
meal to be consumed
prey to be hunted
creature to be tamed.
devour me with hunger’s gaze
touch me
fingers lined with starvation
my flesh, a feast.
you were loved

wasn’t that enough?

I never understood how love couldn't be enough until I came to recognize the signs of depression in the ones who claimed not to love me anymore. Perhaps that could be the case here too?

Other times they were utter douche bags under it all and selfishly, foolishly threw me aside.

I know your loss doesn't feel better hearing this, and I'm sad to hear you're hurting.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences. In this case, a man hit on me aggressively at a convention after rumours of hearing he had assaulted someone spread. He had been a good friend until I felt a hint of what the rumours had said.

That’s awful, foreboding and frightening, and not the least bit disappointing. You shouldn’t have to worry about that, and this is why more than the Gilette commercial is needed. I find convention etiqette is inexcusably “misunderstood” by men. I wish they knew and cared enough to treat women and cosplayers like any other human being on any other day

I saw your profile says game designer and I want you to hear a voice of encouragement, having spent a few years as a producer / project / program manager for mobile device game development.

The thought patterns your brain picks up in game designing transfer over to life and all other jobs. Everything I learned and experienced in those three years has helped me grow as a person and continue to help others.

Keep doing it! :)

This reminds me of "Possession" by Sarah McLachlan. A good thing, by the way, but if you don't like Sarah I can't help you. lol.

I'm not familiar. I'll have to look it up.

Ah, I think you might like it. Sarah is Canadian. As are most of my favorite female musician-singer-songwriters. :D I've got a whole list.

Let me know if you give it a listen and what results. Unless you dislike it. Then just lie to me so we can remain civil.
