12:41 pm

I spent the majority of the day yesterday in bed, dozing here and there. I just couldn’t make my body cooperate. Because of that, my brain decided to be depressed over it all, so I basically just cuddled up to Skit-man and watched TV.

Despite spending all that time in bed, I still slept 8 hours, with 12 times “restless” and 26 minutes awake. Thank you new fitbit.

My client today was worried about me getting there because of the snow, but she lives in a subdivision so I wasn’t worried about it. I’m hoping they have the gravel roads clear by Wednesday so I can clean at GH and RR. They’re kind of my “money maker” clients because I spend all day there and do a lot of laundry. I really can’t miss out on the money, y’know?

They say we’re going to get more snow this coming weekend. My “get out of here with that” girl (the one that gives me the free coffee) at the gas station is already making plans to stay at one of the BnB’s in town. She said that it’s supposed to snow Saturday through Monday. I haven’t checked the forecast, though. hmm weather channel only has “wintery mix to snow” on Saturday. The low temperature sucks though. 5 degrees is a bit chilly for me. It’s 33 right now, and I was going out to smoke with no jacket on. Doesn’t feel cold at all. My thermostat is broken. I like the cold way more than the heat anymore, even though the cold messes with the arthritis.

Oh! my pharmacy is now selling CBD oil. I got a “daily dose” syringe for 9 dollars to try. I’ve not tried the expensive stuff because I don’t want to waste my money if it doesn’t do me any good. Seeing that I’m still feeling a lot of pain today, I decided to take it about 15 minutes ago. I’ll give it a half hour before I say yay or nay. My shoulder is (as usual) the real painful spot, and even though I try like hell to use my right when vacuuming and mopping, it always ends up back in my left hand. Feh.

I need coffee. I’ll be back.

2:33 pm

So I’m talking to this guy on fb that’s from one of the Duran groups. He’s showing me pictures of his collection. It’s fucking insane! he has everything from seeing them as an “unknown” band in 1980 to things from today. lol even a Duran Duran condom. A condom! So many signed things, met them a bunch, been to every concert… ::sigh:: I’m so jealous.

Ok, He just said he went to John Taylor’s house. Wtf. noooo. no. Not fair if it’s true! ok. It’s true. He has clothes from John Taylor, that is signed by John Taylor, and yes, I know the autograph is his. smh fucking insane.

6:24 pm

lol once I mentioned “fiancee” the Duran Duran guy stopped talking to me lol lol lol ahhh too damn funny! I guess he thought that I’d be all goo goo over him because of his collection? um no. nope. I don’t work that way. I want your collection, not you. Big difference.

So, the one dose didn’t work. Yeah, I guess I have to take it consistently for it to work. But I just can’t fork over my money for “maybe”. Y’know, maybe it will work. I know people that take it, and it works for them, then I know people that have no luck with it at all. Actually I know a lot more people that it doesn’t work for, so… Yeah. I don’t know. I don’t know, I don’t know, I don’t know.

I have almost 100 in cash that I have saved up towards my tattoo. I know a tattoo is going to work lol I don’t know if the CBD oil will. Feh.

Because of this horrendous shoulder pain, I keep opening and closing the webcam to do the JVM for tomorrow, because my main pet peeve is this damn pain. Do you guys want to hear me bitch and moan even more about how craptastic I feel? I doubt it. ::sigh::

Eh. I’ll just start talking and see where it goes.

See ya.

Ive seen some awesome NKOTB collections I would have died for back in the day. LOL

Gilraent WildflowerHeart ⋅ January 14, 2019

This guy was sending pic after pic... seriously bragging about it all, but lol if I had what he had? I'd probably do the same thing. But it is really funny that he stopped as soon as I mentioned Pam lol

WildflowerHeart Gilraent ⋅ January 14, 2019

LOL he probably thought having an awesome collection would get him laid in the next millennium too?

I'm always hesitant when it comes to CBD oil because I know there's some that jump on the 'gimmick train' and don't hardly put any into it (originally, I'm not sure about now). So I'm always hesitant when it came to the edibles and drops you put under your tongue.
I use "Onyx" which you put into juice in a vape (or can just put the entire thing into a vape, although I wouldn't recommend it). It's 140mg of CBD in a small vial, BUT also has 'less than' 0.3% THC in it. Some CBD oils will try to manufacture it to completely strip the THC which can give the benefit but also make it feel like 'nothing is happening'.
This one has the 'entourage effect' because of the THC which basically means you get that very slightly dreamy/relaxed state.
This is the one I use. It's come WAY down in price (it used to be 80 when I originally bought it, now it's 30.) They also have a lot of different edibles and different oil types. As for recommendations, I've personally used the Onyx, Platinum, and Gold from that company...Onyx is the strongest, but I started with the other two to see if it'd work. There's one called "heady harvest" that a coworker used that I used as well that worked well. As for the others, I'm not sure...but if you have a vape I'd give it a whirl. With mine, I'll take one or two drops (depending on how well the dropper works with that vial) and put it into my vape then put the juice in. You can add it to juice already but it tends to float on top of the juice and not mix in too well.
Give it a whirl if you can drop some money on it some time or if the stuff at the gas station works but you don't want to pay 9 bucks for a little vial every time.

Gilraent Teflon Superhero ⋅ January 15, 2019

I think I just read a review on heady harvest (forgive me I've been up all night) I think.
I know the cheap stuff doesn't work a damn on me. Went through a whole vial, going up to max dose and staying there for 2 months to no avail.

I'm willing to try the stuff at the pharmacy... I know Thuy wouldn't be selling anything that isn't ... the "real stuff". I'm just soooo jaded on pain control anymore. I don't want to fork out money for something that may not work. And yes, I am very impatient, yes I want immediate relief. So do I hand over a hundred to have something that might work if I take it for two months? Or just suck it up buttercup and deal? pfft. I don't even know anymore. And I know you left more notes, and I haven't even looked at them... oy.

Teflon Superhero January 15, 2019

I just looked up Heady Harvest and you can choose between 300mg and 500mg. So if you have a vape, I'd DEFINITELY start with Onyx and if it works for you, go through that vial and then get heady harvest if you need a stronger dose!

Teflon Superhero January 15, 2019

ALSO (LOL Sorry, spamming). The Onyx can be used under your tongue. Matt tried it originally that way and said nothing happened. The second time I gave him A LOT under his tongue and he said he felt 'relaxed' but nothing else. Once he tried it in the vape, he said it hit much faster and stronger. He doesn't smoke or vape, so I thought it'd be an interesting way to test it out to see how it'd effect someone who hasn't tried it in either capacity. Still anecdotal but that's what it did for him.

Gilraent Teflon Superhero ⋅ January 15, 2019

interesting. Perhaps vaping would work better for me. hm.

Teflon Superhero Gilraent ⋅ January 15, 2019

It might. I haven't tried it under my tongue just because I can't do bitter flavors at all. I figured with me being a former smoker, vaping would be the better way since I already know how to inhale it and hold. Matt can't really vape so he had to vape a bit more before enough got into his system, but it did work better for him.

Gilraent Teflon Superhero ⋅ January 15, 2019

oooh... you know, I just found out yesterday that the whole sweet, bitter, umami thing is all genetic.
"More About Bitter Sensitivity
If you tend to avoid vegetables like brussels sprouts, cauliflower, and kale, the reason may be in your genes. These veggies all contain glucosinolates, a group of natural compounds that can taste bitter to some people. How in the world did scientists figure this out? Glucosinolates are similar to a synthetic chemical called phenylthiocarbamide (PTC). In 1931 chemist Arthur Fox was pouring PTC powder into a bottle. One of his colleagues complained that the dust had a bitter taste. Fox tasted nothing. A few experiments later and they discovered that most people are either “tasters” or “nontasters” when it comes to PTC. "

So there you have it. you can blame it on your genes lol

Teflon Superhero Gilraent ⋅ January 15, 2019

Matt LOVES bitter tastes, it's unreal. But at the same time, there's a lot of things I say are bitter that he swears he can't taste bitterness at all in it.
I always say "oh no it has that hair spray taste" lmao. There's bitter things I like. I love brussels sprouts and cauliflower...but I despiiiiiiiise kale. It just tastes like burnt rubber bands....gross.

But then again, cilantro tastes like soap to me so lmfao

Gilraent Teflon Superhero ⋅ January 15, 2019

oh there is a cilantro gene, too lol "More About Cilantro Aversion
Ah, cilantro. Few people have a neutral opinion of this aromatic herb. Either you love it or you really, really hate it. Lovers describe it as fresh and citrusy; haters say it tastes like dirt or crushed bugs. Research into the genetics of smell and taste may help explain the phenomenon. People who loathe cilantro aren’t just picky—it’s actually in their genes. While we don't completely understand the underlying cause for disliking cilantro, we know many genetic variants are associated with it."

Teflon Superhero Gilraent ⋅ January 15, 2019

It's kind of weird that over the years I've grown to like the taste of cilantro. The only issue is to taste it 'right' I have to use like...the tiniest amount in anything. Then I CRAVE the taste of it because I taste the kind of 'fresh cut grass' taste and it's so good...but buying an entire bundle of cilantro to snip off a pinch HAHAHAHAHA.

Gilraent Teflon Superhero ⋅ January 15, 2019

lol right? I do love cilantro (and the DNA test said I would lol) but a little goes a long way, yaknow?

Fawkes Gal January 15, 2019

This reminds me so much of me in high school. It was during their 90s comeback and I was SO insanely into them. I remember somehow getting on a fan club snail mail mailing list way back in the early days of the internet, and getting on another mailing list for people with this HUGE collection and ordering huge posters SIGHT UNSEEN just from a list with a description. I even had little Duran Duran penpals and we would send one another ACTUAL PHYSICAL letters and xeroxes of old magazine pictures and things we had. At some point I wound up with actual physical photographs of a few of the guys, and a random CD of rare B-sides. Good times.

Gilraent Fawkes Gal ⋅ January 15, 2019

I totally missed the comeback because my asshole ex didn't like them, therefore I couldn't listen to them. Yeah it was that kind of relationship.

I belong to a bajillion DD groups on fb. and lol I keep joining more. Every time I join a new group, I get 5-10 friend requests from Duranies. And yes, I add them so I can keep my addiction alive lol

Fawkes Gal Gilraent ⋅ January 15, 2019

I saw them live for the first time in 1995 when I was fifteen and cried ALL THE TEARS. Ugh, what a horrible ex. I hope you're enjoying the fandom now. I still love them, but it's much more of a gentle simmer now. ;-)

I'm afraid I checked out a bit after Astronaut because I really didn't care for that album, and I was into everything up until then, although of course I have my favorites. Their early 80s stuff is still where it's at for me.

Gilraent Fawkes Gal ⋅ January 15, 2019

Seven and the Ragged Tiger will forever be my favorite album. Lots of memories with that one.

I have never seen them live. Can you believe? As much as my dad loved me, he wouldn't drive all the way to the venue when I was a kid... I don't think. I never asked him because I felt it was frivolous. Sad, because I bet if I had asked mum and dad for tickets and such, I bet they would have done it. :(

Fawkes Gal Gilraent ⋅ January 16, 2019

Hopefully you'll still get your chance! I saw them again during the Astronaut tour and was all excited about getting able to see the ORIGINAL five up on stage. But then later we found out that Andy Taylor's father had either passed away, or was ill and he'd had to go back to the UK. We were so far away from the stage, and the replacement guitarist was so similar to Andy's size and stature that I'd had no idea it wasn't him. Shortly afterwards he left the band again. Ah well! ~laughs~

I hope the pain eases up. I know the feeling my knees starting hurting because of the weather. it sucks.

Gilraent Deleted user ⋅ January 15, 2019

I'm sorry your knees are bothering you, my friend. I bet having knee issues is way worse, because, well, dang. You gotta walk. :(
::gentle hugs::

Star Maiden January 15, 2019

The last I heard, we're going to get the storm this weekend. Its coming from the west. I'd assume that means you'd get it... midweek? End of the week?

Gilraent Star Maiden ⋅ January 15, 2019

I was trying to pay attention to the weather channel at my clients house this afternoon, but we kept talking and talking, so I totally missed the forecast for 2 hours straight. Well, it says rain on Thursday, and wintery mix on Saturday hmm
