Today was a hibernate/recovery day- slept for almost 12 hrs and then did nothing but watch football. A necessary day though- I feel better tonite. I’m still gonna have this cold for awhile, but I think the worst of it is behind me. Luckily, I didn’t get super-sick- just enough to be annoying. I’m pissed I got it in the first place- but I guess I was due.
This January weather is bit eerie so far. Usually this time of year, I’m looking out at snowbanks and measuring the temps by wind chill factor- this year is green grass and bare pavement so far. I know we’ll get slammed soon enough, but the weather patterns are definitely changing. Winter is starting later and lasting longer into early Spring. The geese are flying south overhead much later into the season now. There are shoots in the flower gardens- confused by the warm , rainy weather. There’s no ice on the rivers and lakes. It definitely feels like we are on the cusp of some major climatic changes- but personally, each mild day like this is one more day off the calendar during the time of year I dread.
