we were a lightning strike
swift and brilliant
leaving destruction in our wake.

an everlasting scar
that is proof that we struck
just once and it stuck.

a scar that says
we were here
but died on impact.

I suppose this one is about the burning fire of a connection with anyone, friend, lover, whatever. it starts like an explosion, consuming everything. one day, your life is one way, the next, every day is infused with another person. this bond makes you feel invincible, like nothing can touch you both as long as you stand together. its magnificent, but too magnificent. it lasts as long as it can, but certainly not forever. and when it ends, its a lost limb. a limb you’ll always feel but will never be there again.

these people are an imprint. and though they may never be part of your life again, they will still be apart of who you become, whether you want them to or not.
