Currently it is snowing. This morning it was ice. My work delayed opening untill 10:00am. I arrived a bit early at work as the roads were in good condition, only wet. The air temperature was around 30 degrees F, and the City and State had brined the roadways so nothing was sticking.
At work all the crew slowly arrived and we all went to the Supervisors office to get an idea of what to do on this day. I figured to go out and do my routine inspections should I be able to find any faclities open. But we were instructed to just stay in the office. I played on Facebook and checked emails.
Finally around 12:30pm we were allowed to leave the building. I sprinted out to my area, but found only one facility open that needed an inspection. I quickly did that one and headed off to find a restaurant that was open for lunch.
I found a delightful Chinese place and had a wonderful lunch of sushi, beef/beef tripe & broccoli, and 4 pot stickers. It was a delicious lunch, sastifing a deep hunger for something different.
As I was leaving the ice that turned to rain, turned to snow. I rode around a bit accessing the road conditions and went to see if my favorite Hobby Shop was open, but of course it was close. I then slowly head back to the office to do data entry and wrap up the day.
I drove home in the snow, now it was huge heavy wet flakes. I stopped at the liquor store for supplies to make a delicious drink called "Cherry Smash". Oh my God! It is good! It honestly tastes like a cherry smash candy. Debbie even likes it! I am now on my third one. I am trying to watch my sugar intake and have been using Zero Cherry Coke.
I went to the grocery store for a few things and I was recognized by the General Managers, as this is one of my facilities that I inspect. They were very happy to see me, spoke kindly and asked how I was doing. When on the job and doing inspections I try to leave everyone with a good feeling. I am not a hard ass. I feel that if I am nice and we get along, when I do have to reprimand them I can get by with a verbal warning and not have to write them up, as they know I am serious since I am always easy going. So far this has worked for me and I have only had to get really stern a few times.
Damn...these Cherry Smash drinks are good! Well the fact it is on top of a Hydrocodone does help.
Looking out the French Doors, the back lawn is white, nothing but snow and there is no sign of it letting up.
The temperature is dropping and I cannot help but think of the Pit Bull Buck. He is the one that we are to adopt. He is coming this Sunday to see if he gets along with Maggie and how he acts towards us. He is an altered two year old male, originally a house pet for an autistic child, but now regulated to living outside in the mud on a chain. The family is moving and not allowed to have a Pit Bull where they are going. The poor fellow must be freezing laying in the cold. Maggie is in her recliner, wearing her sweater and enjoying life inside.
I have installed AVG Anti Virus on my computer per a recommendation of a friend here. If it works well then I will be installing it on Debbies laptoop.
Guess this is all for now.
Lets go get one more drink!!!
