My poor Mother in Law, (M.I.L.).
She has gotten infected, or rather her computer has. I believe she inadvertently clicked on a pop up and her computer has now been taken hostage by a malicious bug that is prompting her to buy protection.
Screens are tiling up and you are not able to access the Control Panel to see what is running, added or what can be removed. Trying to use Task Manager to find what is running is blocked from use. Even after a hard boot, this same series of screens appear and it all cascades into chaos.
I fear that my computer may have been close to the same breach, as I have had similar type prompts and screens appear as pop ups. I have been fortunate enough to not have click on these.
I adore my M.I.L., but she does tend to forward a lot of email with attached files, which honestly I do not open, I just delete them. Perhaps this is the source of her bug.
I am not sure if she even has any Anti Virus Software installed.
Debbie and I have discussed that we may need to upgrade our Anti Virus Protection.
Damn.....
