Those Blue Eyes in Depression

She had the brightest blue eyes,
they stared me down right to the core
and every time I looked
those blue eyes, those blue eyes
had pain

She had the smile of an angel,
but deep down she was hurt as if
her fluffy white wings had been torn off
and I hated to see her this way,
with those blue eyes full of pain

One day she told me
she told me why her heart was frozen
like a block of ice that would never melt
You see, she had been hurt,
who could hurt those blue eyes?

She cried out to me
It was the one she loved and trusted the most,
he ripped every hope and dream away from her
She had nothing left to feel but numbness
Then her eyes were no longer bright as they once were

All I could see now. when I looked,
was only pain and loss
The spark I once had faded
I wanted to help her
But soon those bright blue eyes,
were no longer blue and bright at all
