NJM18 - 30: Squeaking the Last One Out in These Foolish Things

The last NoJoMo entry of 2018, folks. It’s gonna be a quickie, but I wanted to make sure to squeak this one out.

My Tinder date for tonight must have sensed my excitement over The Scot’s ticket purchase. Nothing was said to him, but he rain checked our date. Needless to say I was not disappointed in the least. In fact, I was relieved.

And as a happy coincidence, Lovely Leah just happens to be heading down to my part of town tonight! She has a friend in town and she wanted to visit with him and asked me to come along, so we’re making it an event.

Lovely will most likely spend the night at my place tonight. I told her that I have to get up super-duper early to FaceTime with The Scot and then walk the dog and get her to daycare before my workout…going to be a frantic morning, but it’s better that she doesn’t attempt to drive home tonight. She lives far, far away. Sure, it’s a suburb of this city, but it feels like a different state, so in my bed she will sleep tonight.

And I’m still walking on air thinking about my future meet-up with The Scot. I am soooooo relieved he booked that ticket. It truly was quite the mystery for the longest time. I think there may have been other reasons for hesitation, and maybe I’ll find out along this journey. My guess is that his heart may have been broken pretty badly…maybe not so long ago.

He told me that his mum told him that since “meeting” me he’s gotten his ‘wee spark back’.

How adorable is that?!!?

He’s so very close to his mum…almost frighteningly so.

Anyway. I need to get going. Gotta walk the dog for a sec and then finish getting ready for Lovely.

Looking forward to catching up with her…oh! Did I tell you that her ex-husband committed suicide? Ugh. Yeah. He couldn’t handle the death of their daughter. And yet, in killing himself he left SIX other little girls behind. That’s right. He had six more daughters after he had the one with Lovely (and left her during her pregnancy). Ah, I may have written previously that he’d left five girls behind. No. I mis-counted. He had six more.

Sweet Lovely. She’s had it rough.

ANYWAY. Been a pretty amazing NoJoMo this go-around. If it hadn’t been for the miracle that was pulled out of the hat at the last minute, it was about to be the suckiest NoJoMo on record…now, it’s coming in very close to the great NoJoMo of 2015 when I had that tiny little love affair with SHIP (Super Hot Icelandic Pilot…I think that’s what I called him) in Shanghai.

....now that one is hard to top!
