NJM18 - 4: Extra Hour to Daydream in These Foolish Things

Got an extra hour of sleep this morning but it sure didn’t feel like it.

The event last night was kind of a bust. I was absolutely shocked that it was so much different than years past. I mean, yes it was held in a different location, but it was supposed to be bigger and better than ever.

Instead, it was like walking around in the dark with a crowd of other people, wondering where to go. Can’t really explain it properly. Bottom line is, I got a nice walk out of it (with the dog), it was wonderful weather (until it wasn’t…a HUGE storm blew in right after I got home - there were severe thunderstorm warnings for about 15 minutes before I got home and I checked the radar and opted to run my ass home - those storms were massive and damaging), and some of it was cool, but just not cool enough. Didn’t even come close to the event three years ago.

I did get a few decent photos out of the whole experience, but again, not really much to write home about.

I did write to Scotland about it, though. Heh.

The Scot and I are now pretty much an item. Again, I will believe it when we are standing face-to-face in person at Grand Central Station, but he continues to blow my mind on a daily basis. The texts are ever increasing in intensity, though he did point out over the weekend that we have never talked/texted about sex or even been suggestive to each other…that from day one it’s been something “‘other-worldly’ with [me] and sex chat would debase that”

It’s just that we truly are beyond that. I thanked him for staying in ‘that zone’ with me and without coming right out and saying it, I thanked him for NOT sending me dick pics or other crude things…

And then he made a million jokes that made me laugh and laugh.

Still working on hotel room for our NYE visit but may have narrowed down to a couple of boutique places. Thanks to all for suggestions and letting me know about the airbnb situation in Manhattan.

And today he told me that he’s making plans to visit my in [my city] in February!! I suppose that means a trip to Scotland for me will be in the works for March…if we decide that this is truly something we want to pursue. I know, I know! Getting ahead of ourselves, but this is soooooo much fun to daydream about.

Work week is looming and I’m not looking forward to it, though the idea of sending out resumes and applying for new jobs gets more and more urgent. Did I do it today? No. Should I have? Um, YES!!! Instead, I enjoyed daydreams about marrying a Scottish man and soaked up the beautiful sunshine in a luxurious fashion while walking the dog.

Oh…and spent a grant total of 4 hours on FaceTime with Ths Scot today. And around 3 yesterday. And about 5 during the week last week. But understand that we won’t be able to do that during the workweek because our schedules just don’t allow it now that our time changes are back in sync. Last week, the UK had already changed their clocks back an hour and this weekend WE changed our clocks here in the US, so back to being on difficult schedules instead of being able to FT at the end of my workday.

So we text a ton during the week and FT each other on the weekends and seem to have fallen into this routine that I’m absolutely fine with right now.

OK. Ugh. I need to go. I have my workout at 4:30am tomorrow, so sleep time is a wastin’

More news to follow. Sorry so Scot-centric. He’s just on my mind a LOT these days….

xox,
GS
