Not following the prompt today. Just my usual boring entry.

9 am

I don’t feel like I want to die this morning. The last two days have been really rough, not only physically, but mentally as well. And yesterday I had absolutely no patience whatsoever. None. I was snippy at everyone… well, I guess that just means the dogs, really. But I didn’t have patience with them. Poor things, dealing with my sighs, eye rolls, the “Are you kidding me?!” and “Jesus! Again??” blah blah blah.

I spent the better part of both days in bed. I hate that. I hate that I had to miss work. Glad that I took yesterday as my “yearly day off” though.

I was just thinking that it’s been a year since I’ve been doing this full time. Or almost full time… or whatever, and that I’m feeling a tiny bit burnt out. It worries me because I get stressed and very depressed when I feel burnt out, and it’s a quick downward spiral to giving up on everything and walking away. I don’t know what to do to stop this from happening. ::sigh::

Now I’m thinking too much. Oy.

7:07 pm

I had to catch a chicken today. Hilda, the only chicken left at the Alpenhorn followed me into the laundry/office building. I heard her talking behind me. Now, chickens can be hard to catch, and I thought for sure she was going to give me a hard time. But when I backed her up close to the door and grabbed her, she let me do it. When I took her outside, I held her and talked to her, explaining that she just can’t be in the human buildings. I think she was pretty pissed off at me because I didn’t see her the rest of the day.

The blazer wouldn’t start this morning. Dead battery. We don’t know why. I literally just got the oil changed and two new tires put on the thing yesterday. Pam put the charger on it, and it’s fine… for now. We’ll see if it starts tomorrow morning. I was going to move my stuff back out of the car, but Pam told me to wait, just in case. Which is a good idea.

No sleeping in tomorrow. I agreed to do another move out clean, but I don’t think this one will be bad. It’s a rental property owned by the Stone Giraffe, and their version of “bad” is.. well, after all that I’ve seen not bad at all. lol I should show them the true definition of bad and let them see the pictures I take of the gross house (the kids rooms to show mom why I didn’t clean it). now that’s bad.

Meh. I’m tired. And I’ve lost my coffee. Hmph.

See ya.

Well, hey, you own the business! Even with established people you could probably be like "Heads up all of you, for the week of (here to here) I'll be off for vacation. After that, I'll pick back up into the regularly scheduled program."

Doesn't have to be like RIGHT NOW since it's closing in on the holidays and you might make some extra money cleaning for get togethers, but like...beginning of the year you could be like 'yo, taking a week off.' ya know?

I always get burned out at about a year and three months on everything and that's when I throw my vacation days down. You should do the same. I know that means a loss of income but mental health is important. It's better to take a bit then to set some person's house on fire in a fit of rage when you walk in for the 400000000 time and it's dirty as fuck again lol

lol that one house...

But seriously, Pam and I were talking about it today. We're going to budget it out and stay at some fancy shmancy hotel in St. Lou at least over night. Just to get out of dodge for a day. But I do plan on taking more than just one day off.

Ya gotta take time for you. I always shoot my clients an e-mail informing them of my vacation dates.

I now have an image of you and that chicken. 😜
