Big layoffs at work today. It’s just the start. I didn’t get fired, but I got put on a PIP (Performance Improvement Plan) that’s conditional for 45 days! They are changing my role…but it’s not completely new - it’s just that I’m now supposed to perform in areas that I’m not very good at - it’s one step before being let go.
So I have 45 days to figure this shit out. Many being let go as I type…kind of a bloodbath around here right now.
Edit: Best Bud let go. She’s the breadwinner in her family. Other guy sitting next to me let go… more to follow. I am lucky in that I did get a buffer, but it’s a weird buffer. Must move into high gear on two fronts (1) new/different role and (2) job search.
