Now Playing: Supernanny
I fucking love Supernanny.
Today was a long one.
We met a lady at CVS and I bought a three bowl crock pot. I’m hoping to start meal prepping now that my hours are later in the afternoon. Brand new in the box for 10$! Not too shabby!
We picked FiL up after that and had some lunch and then did Aldi and Walmart. Went way over on the grocery budget, unfortunately. FiL needed and wanted a lot of things and I’m never going to tell him no. DH needed special medicine too and ugh shit is pricy!
We dropped FiL off, put his groceries away, and then went home. I put the groceries away while DH walked the puppies.
Bosslady gave me 3 bags of clothes to donate but said I should look through and pick things out for my mom or grandma before donating. I scooped out some capris and tshirts. They were all too big for me (EXCITED!)
DH and I went through our closets today, too. Well, mostly me. I accumulated a ton of clothes and most didn’t fit or I never wear. Even my leggings were too big. I didn’t know that was possible! I put the highest quality stuff in a bin for my mom and grandma to check out when we visit and then everything else in the donate pile. Don’t worry, everything is clean and intact. I just want to give mom and gram first dibs. Plus, anything they don’t want will be donated when we visit them anyway.
Bosslady gave me tomorrow off which is unusual. She had already told me she wanted me to come over early so we could go through the kids’ clothes but now I have it off. I checked in with her and she says everything is fine. My paranoid brain is wondering if I’ve done something wrong but the sensible part of my brain is like YOU HAVE A FINAL PAPER TO WRITE SO JUST TAKE THE WIN.
After that, I made burgers and broccoli and I actually drank TEA! I normally hate tea but this kind is really yummy. It had extra swerve and heavy cream in it but it was still really yummy. OH and I discovered a new keto snack! It’s basically cheese doodles made of protein powder. They’re SO good. I have to remember to save up so I can stock up on snacks for the Christmas trip.
I’m so focused on going down in December. I start to feel really icky and sad if I haven’t visited in 4 or so months. It’s been 4. My therapist said that the best thing for me (in addition to therapy and my medicines) would be to make (at minimum) quarterly visits home for my own mental health.
If only she could prescribe train tickets!!!!! Insurance would totally cover it then, right?
Gonna do another question thingy. No one reads this anyway so I CAN DO WHAT’S FUN FOR ME DAMNIT
x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x
Are you young at heart, or an old soul?
I don’t know, actually. I used to think I was an old soul but now I find my happiness in my own young and softheartedness.
What makes someone a best friend?
Loyalty, honesty, kindness, and love.
What Christmas (or Hanukkah) present do you remember the most?
The guitar that I feel terrible for never learning to play. My cousins did, though.
Tell me about a movie/song/tv show/play/book that has changed your life.
I can’t think of one right now. I’m sure there’s something but I have a terrible memory.
Name one physical feature that you like about yourself, and one you dislike.
I really like my dimples because other people like them. I dislike most everything else, especially my weight and my nose.
Would you like to reconnect with any friends you’ve lost contact with?
Yeah, but… If they still wanted to talk to me, they could. I try to forget about this kind of stuff. I feel guilty for not being a better friend so they would still want me…
What’s more important in a relationship: physical attraction or emotional connection?
Emotional connection, absolutely.
Name a movie that you knew would be terrible just from reading the title.
Rubber, that movie about the possessed tire.
What holiday do you most look forward to?
Christmas. It’s always been my favorite.
How is the relationship between you and your parents?
My mom is my best friend. My father is completely out of my life, thank god.
You’ve got the TV on, but you’re not really watching. What channel is the TV on?
Cartoon Network. It’s what I leave on for the dogs.
Name a song that never fails to make you happy.
Yeah! by Usher, Lil Jon, and Ludacris.
You know at least one person named Michael. Tell me about him.
I dated one once for a week. He thought the other Julie wanted him and that’s the only reason he said yes. He never wanted me.
Another was an incredibly close friend who I have lost contact with. I hope he’s okay. He has the biggest heart I know. He even sent my sister a card after her dog died. He doesn’t know her.
Have you ever read the “missed connections” on Craigslist? Have you ever posted one, or wanted to?
I have read them on reddit. I have never posted one.
If you could pick anywhere to live the rest of your life, where would it be?
Somewhere with enough space for my dogs and my loved ones. Preferably not the south.
Can money buy happiness?
I mean the cliche says no but there’s an awful lot of things that I would be much happier if I could afford…
Do you drink? Smoke? Do drugs? Why, or why not?
I drink occasionally. I don’t smoke or do drugs. I wouldn’t turn down pot but I don’t do it.

One or two friends. I am easily overwhelmed.

My mom listens to lots of rock music. I tend to like indie/alternative bands. I don’t know what my father listens to. I remember him getting really drunk and blasting country music and then another time getting really drunk and yelling that Creed song about being 6 feet from the edge in what I think he thought was an intimidating voice… I don’t like country or Creed.
Have you ever been bullied? Have you ever bullied anyone else?
Yes. All throughout school. And yeah, I probably have. My younger siblings.
If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Depends. Do I have to pick something healthy, or will the food I pick be good regardless of what it is? Cause JESUS FUCK I miss potatoes.
If your partner wanted to wait until marriage before having sex, would you stay in that relationship?
Probably. But no one I have been with felt that way and I’m married now…

My survey stealing site has been REVEALED.
What’s your favorite Tumblr tag to track?
I didn’t when I had one.

Lower middle now, I think. DH and I have a mortgage that we are able to pay and our lights stay on. That’s all I need.

What is “normal?” Are you normal?
I don’t know. I don’t think of myself as normal. I know that I’m an odd duck and I embrace that.
Someone close to you is dying. You have the choice to let this person live for 10 more years, but if you do, you cause the death of 10 strangers. You don’t have to see them die. Do you take the offer?
I like to think of myself as very caring and giving and all of that… I would let the strangers die.
What is one thing you could never forgive?
Abuse. I will burn every bridge to a person that treats me or mine wrongly. I still hate one of my sisters friends for being an asshole to her YEARS ago. Now she’s her roommate and they’re bffs… whoops.
Would you rather be in a relationship after the honeymoon period ends, or be single?
It’s comfy after the honeymoon period. We don’t have sex every two seconds but the comfortable silences and companionship are the best.

I was. I’m not anymore.
What’s the best route to your heart?
My love languages were receiving gifts and words of affirmation if I remember correctly, with a close third being acts of service. I hate that I’m so materialistic but I respond so well to it. DH gets me stevia chocolate almost every week and I’m so full of love I could cry every time.

Quite a few times. Married one!

DH’s auntie once called me her “tiny ballerina” when we started losing weight. I keep that one close to my heart.

Do you want to live until you’re 100?
If I’m healthy.
Do people change? If so, how do you keep a relationship together when both of you start to change?
Of course people change. It’s about changing together for the better and checking in with and supporting your partner as these changes happen.
Have you ever risked a friendship by telling someone you liked them?
Probably.
Would you rather be alone doing something you enjoy, or doing something you don’t like with your best friends?
