I been dating Talan since 2013. I have been working for this company less than a month. When hired i was told there is no problems both of us working there. Now he is getting hours and everyday i call begging for hours! I am not being put on the schedule because family can’t guard same coal mine. They promise to transfer me to another location yet every single day They find an excuse. I was told they have been cutting all hours of female guards giving the hours to men. Mom says sue that is discrimination. I am getting irritated but this issues hasnt been an entire week yet.

Everyday i am promised hours to never get a phone call to come in. I feel defeated i am trying to be patient. I was told today they might give me hours. I am not holding on to hope.

I trying to decide whether to wait this out or find a job closer to home. I can’t afford 2 1/2 hour drive back and forth from work if i dont get enough money to afford gas.

Just because i am a female i am not allowed to be a rover. My hours have been čut. Should i keep waiting for hours? Sign a discrimination lawsuit or just find a new job? Just because i am female doesnt mean i shouldnt work.. I need to pay my bills! I dont know what to do..

I am debating on just getting another job closer to home. Honestly i was hoping for job stability now i feel i can’t win

I'd be looking closer to home. If they are actually saying to you, verbally, that hours are being given to men over women then yeah, discrimination.

I think looking for something closer to home would be the best way to go. I'm not sure how far you would get with a discrimination claim and that would take some time anyway. You could probably file a complaint with the state employment commission but again, not sure what you'd get out of it. They probably are giving the hours to men because of issues such as you had with the man who attacked you. It puts them in a difficult position but it's not smart to come right out and state that they're giving priority to men over women.
