Annoyed-ish? in These Foolish Things

Tonight I have a date with a surgeon. I’m not going to tell you what he specializes in because you all are some mother fucking googlers and can find anything out! It amazes me. Just know it’s NOT plastic surgery.

Anyway, this surgeon dude is the guy I met on Saturday night while I was out with Maria. He’s brilliantly smart, but he’s also cocky as hell and he can push my buttons.

I’m only sitting here writing this because he’s making me wait until after a conference call that he has, which, fine. I get it. You’re a fucking surgeon and you save lives for a living.

But I told him that I really need to be home by 10pm because I have to get up at 4am…and YES, it’s my own doing and if I can’t take going out on a date like a normal human being then I shouldn’t accept date invitations, right?

Yet I texted him my thoughts on timing and he pretty much laughed off my 10pm curfew and replied back “10ish and I’m a good snuggler” which would be cute coming from some people, but from him it almost sounded…well…threatening? Because after I told him I was serious, he again laughed it off and told me that he’d just roll over and go back to sleep after (eggplant emoji) and be outta my apartment by 7ish.

Maria tells me that she saw he was pushing my buttons on Saturday night, but she also told me to give him a chance…says he’s such a catch and yada yada. And I’m going to do my best. I’m going to TRY to bite my tongue (you know I have trouble biting my tongue, right??). I’m going to do my very best to have a wonderful evening.

I also have to learn how to have thick skin and let things roll off my back. This might be a good opportunity to practice.
