Hey,

So I've made the jump over from OD. I'll admit that I somewhat gave up on OD in its final months. Sometimes I felt overwhelmed or pressured to write and the words didn't come. But I always thought OD would be there forever and I could dip back in and out of it whenenver I wished. This has been a wake-up call. I realised that I did still want something online to write my thoughts, and I did want to stay in touch with all my OD bookmarks. I've tried to find as many of you as I could. I think most of us have kept our old OD usernames anyway. But please point me in the direction of anyone you know I used to read, or think I would like to read.

So. Things are really good. I'm really content with my life at the moment. Martin and I have been together for four and a half years now. It's the real deal. We're in the process of saving like mad at the moment so that we can move in together and properly start our lives together. I love my job. I'm so lucky. I work for a local company and we supply photocopiers and printers to businesses and then provide the service on them. Last year we won a really big contract for the largest estate agent chain in the UK and we're in the process of installing photocopiers at all their branches. It's a huge deal for a small company such as ours. Theres only 8 of us in our office. But it's guaranteed our future for the next five years at least. I manage the service department. It's a really varied role, every day is different. One day everything could run smoothly and the next, all the machines could blow up or run out of toner!

Martin has a job he loves too. He works for an IT company who design software and databases for insurance companies. It's the perfect geeky job for him. It's good money too :)

We spent most of 2013 saving our butts off. But when you work hard, you have to play hard too. We had a lovely summer holiday in Majorca and we also had breaks in Bristol and Liverpool. This year Martin turns 30 (OMG) so we are hoping to go away to celebrate. I'm thinking Amsterdam, but it wont be until October, so I hope to go away in the summer too.

This weekend we are all off to a log-cabin in the Essex countryside to celebrate my Mum's birthday. She's the big 5-0! It looks as though the weather will be terrible (it has rained continuously for weeks!) but we plan on using the hottub and spa and playing a lot of Monopoly! The boys were hoping to play golf but I think that's out of the question! We are home on Monday and then having a big family dinner in the evening with grandparents and cousins. And then I'm back to work on Tuesday.

Take care xxx
