/418. 999,583 left. Above is a cat photo. I wish to receive credit for posting a cat photo. It is brand new and fresh. I regret not moving the plastic sack of empty pop cans from the right of the frame. I was afraid if I got closer the black cat would leave her new posing place. I’ve been using it for a plant stand so it hasn’t been empty. But now I guess it’s a cat stand. The stand itself has family interest. My fatherinlaw made it to be used as a telephone stand. He was a skilled carpenter but I doubt he ever did anything to please his wife = and I doubt she was ever pleased by anything he did. I suppose that is not an uncommon marriage situation. Anyway I latched onto the telephone/plant/cat stand and it’s one of my prized possessions. Doubt anyone else will ever care. Life is like that.

/419. Oh the cat? You’re interested in the cat? That is the black cat - Katie named her Bear. She and her brother? came from the power plant what’s getting to be a long time ago. Her brother is Stanley P. Stripeybutt who shows up in my writings more often. He is an exceedingly handsome cat in the now stylish tiger mode. Both cats have short faces which I find more attractive - in cats and cattle too. She is quieter, calmer, less seeking of attention than Stripey. She is less afraid of me and the ceiling fan. I was surprised this morning to see her artistically draped over the plant stand and was inspired to take her picture.
Another thing - she gets into and behind furniture and comes out festooned with dusty cobwebs that show up against her black fur. I’ll attempt a cobwebby Bear/black cat photo in the future. Also an update of handsome Stripey. And a photo or more of Gracie who still reigns.

/420. Translation of yesterday’s code.

Here and now - one finger off on the keyboard. (left hand was ok, right was off)

note - the

Oh hell, I wrote it and can’t decode it. Code is a word in there somewhere. I think at some point both hands got off the keys.

/421. I’ve been carrying on some more political shenanigans - not at twitter so it seems more private, and while not safer, at least less personal. That’s what lead me to the first part of the title today. I also had some semi-pleasant male/female conversation that involved more congenial political intercourse. Of course I might have been just being flattered. It lead to another fact of life though. Life is all about comparisons, all about who is in the room. Mel Gibson might have been the sexiest man in the world at one time, but sometimes you/I are the sexiest person in the room. And of course it’s all dynamic..... it changes. So don’t get either too inflated or deflated. It’s all part of life.

/422. Seems like I should have more to say but I guess I don’t. Next time maybe. Meanwhile only 999,579 items to go.

That is an excellent cat portrait. Blackie/Bear is 100% cat and has found a perfect perch. I'm trying not to get too inflated or deflate but it's really difficult to have an objection picture of oneself.

It's funny what possessions we prize. I like quirky things of remembrance, but I've learned that my sister prefers the costly ones. When we were passing down Mom's jewelry after she died, Cindy took the valuable ones - the 2nd engagement ring Dad bought Mom for their 50th anniversary - and I wanted the priceless ones - the first ring he bought her at 19 with it's tiny, tiny diamond. I also have a hand-carved boat propeller and a ceramic figurine my maternal grandfather painted (to look like my mother) while he was in rehab. (He was an alcoholic.)

Anyway, very nice cat photo!

Sometimes all it takes to be sexy is to be in the flow of the conversation. :)

How does a black cat know they're not a silhouette?

I'll have to think about that flow of conversation thing.

We've never had a smart cat.

I love Bear's photo - so atmospheric! Yes - more of these please.

black cats are the best!

Here I am again! July 11, 2018

I think your former plant stand makes a very elegant cat stand, almost like a cat pedestal! :o)

I like the stand :) I have a rock that people laugh at, it has traveled with me for over 30 years. I once made my sister go beg it back from someone we had sold a house to. They had no problem parting with it. It sits on my deck flat on one side, I can't part with it. I'll take a pic one day. Take care,

I love how cats adopt and utilize whatever appears in their territory. When I was updating an app on my iPad the other day I hovered over an ad for an app specifically designed to help people photograph black cats well. It is a challenge.
