Not That I Have Opinions...Ha in Everyday Ramblings

That glare? That is exactly how it looks here right now. This is a parkland shot of the garden last Saturday. I love the spruce in the left foreground.

On Sunday I took the bus train down to Salem to have lunch and hang out a bit with Kes and Most Honorable. We took a short walk to admire the local gardens full of iris and new roses. It was a nice visit and I enjoyed it but it took all day.

I’ve been a little behind in my chores all week but now heading into a three-day weekend I should be able to catch up a bit.

The wild grasses are doing their wild grass thing so this is the pinnacle of annual allergy exposure for me and I basically just passed out yesterday after work on the first evening in awhile with nothing scheduled.

In a couple of weeks I start a 13-week session of Thursday evening yoga classes for me, as a student! I am very excited. I am hoping I will find a sense of community and connection there. The studio is in my neighborhood, maybe about a 12-minute walk away…

The teachers are all actively working physical therapists so even though it is a different style of yoga than what I teach it will be safe as well as challenging. Something to look forward to.

I also took some steps today to see if I can get an appointment through my health system with a Sports Doctor about what I do believe is my over heating issue. Who knows…maybe by this time next year I can be running again and riding a new cool bike.

The new bike purchase is on hold for now until I can get a handle on if this overheating thing is the issue. I do get asked to ride with someone now and then and I feel like such a wuss that I can’t do it like other normal humans.

Another thing on my wish list is to talk to a body image therapist, someone that specializes in disturbed body image. I feel like I am really close to making progress in this area and just need a professional nudge and support. It is coming up now that Kes and I have stopped going to Weight Watchers. Her weight is pretty stable but mine keeps creeping up and I long to have some sort of healthy relationship with my appearance.

The two therapists I have encountered in the past that say they work with these issues were not helpful but I know a great deal of progress has been made in the last 30 years addressing eating disorders. Although I lead a healthy life my brain has not recovered from being seriously anorexic as a teenager.

Oh, speaking of messed up therapists, do you all know who Jordan Peterson is? Listening to him makes me more upset than listening to ummm, the 45th President of the United States and that is pretty darn upset.

The guy in Toronto who killed all those women with the rental van was a follower to some extent of the “line” that Peterson teaches.

I personally think there is something wrong with Jordan Peterson. With his brain and I think his ideology while seeming to be all about taking responsibility for oneself as a young man is in fact extremely dangerous.

And today here in Portland a man in a car ran down three young women on the PSU campus, an area I walk through almost every day.

We don’t know why. It could have been an accident, one throws all one hopes into a basket of hope that it was an accident.

At least they arrested Harvey Weinstein. I would have preferred to see him sit in jail but at least there are criminal charges.

Not that I have opinions or anything…no…

That picture looks so peaceful.

How exciting to be taking that yoga class.

Very cool that you had quality time with Kes and Most Honorable.

Only a week an a half until the graduation. We'll all see each other then. :)

How nice that you're getting to do a yoga class as a student again! And I'd like to figure out the body image thing too. I have been plagued by that as long as I can remember.
