Saturday Night Alarm: Read back an entry to find out how I tripped the alarm at the office and how beyond angry I was to be at the office on Saturday night in the first place. It’s funny - I got a lot of notes on my entry about how I should charge Boss a spa day or how I need to let the CEO know about the ridiculousness of why I was here in the first place. Well, I didn’t have to “somehow let it slip” to the CEO because first thing this morning she was asking me about why I was in the office on Saturday night! Apparently, when the alarm is tripped in the building, the Safety Guy (with whom I’d talked at length about what was happening), the head of Security Systems (IT), the CEO and the head of HR get automatic notifications! So everyone who was anyone knew about it. She did ask me WHY it had to be Saturday night and I told her it was because Boss had sent me an urgent request and explained why it couldn’t be put off (because he’d asked for it by first thing in the morning on Sunday - his Sunday night in China - because he wanted to be ready for a meeting on Monday). I’m glad that she saw the absurdity of it all. Doesn’t make it right...just makes me feel a bit relieved that my “extra credit” did not go unnoticed.
Paul: Eh, I dunno, you guys. He spent the weekend out of town and had called me on Friday after I’d already gone to bed, so I returned his call on Saturday morning, waking him up from his post super late night slumber. Told me he’d call me when he was back from his weekend. Called me last night and told me he had a busy week ahead and *thought* we’d discussed going out on Tuesday night? Well no, we hadn’t. So I told him that Monday (tonight) was a better night - mainly because I want to get back in the swing of Walk & Talks with Athena on Tuesdays and he’s leaving town again on Wednesday. So - he was like, “I’ll call you tomorrow evening” - again, not making a plan with me. We’ll see how this goes. I do expect him to call me tonight and ask me what the plan is. The question is whether or not I’m okay with that. I’m not sure. Since he’s playing it by ear I think I’m going to play it by ear as well.
New Dude I Haven’t Told You About: I’ve been keeping this one quiet, I think because I met him the evening *before* I met Paul and was so blinded by Paul that I didn’t write about this one - also because I didn’t think a whole lot about it. The guy didn’t seem really interested in me - he was more into my dog because he’s working on a project that’s all about dog-friendly establishments in this town and the surrounding areas. He’d taken a few photos of my dog and me while we were having dinner on a dog-friendly patio the week before last. We’d friended each other on FB because I wanted to find more dog-friendly places in town. I thought he was a great person to know, which he IS, but I was pleasantly surprised when he asked me via FB message if I wanted to meet this past weekend for some dog-friendly fun at the art festival. Yes, yes, and MORE YES! What a great way to cheer me up. We spent all day yesterday together. RAD to follow!
Bod: Diet=blown. I mean, not to hell, but it’s been difficult lately. I’m starting a new healthy challenge, and believe it or not it starts this weekend while I’m in Miami!! Not sure how I’m going to handle the beginning, but I do know that I need to get back on the diet wagon. Even working out this weekend was not the easiest thing in the world, though I did hard-core workouts both Saturday and Sunday mornings. But I also day drank all day yesterday. Worth it? YES.
Upcoming Weekend: So looking forward to South Beach this weekend with [EB]! We are going to have so much fun!! She’s actually headed to Paris today for a super quick work trip and then headed to Miami to meet me on Friday morning. I don’t know how she’s going to pull this off, but I’m super excited about it regardless! So is Bachelor Party Marty...I was teasing him via text this morning about how I am traveling to Miami this weekend to meet up with a hot blonde. It drove him absolutely NUTS! I have a feeling this is going to be one for the record books!
OK, duty calls. Lots more to follow in the next entry!
