I think it is ridiculous the money people spend on weddings. I am engaged but there is something about saving money that delights me! I would go into places to try on bride dresses for them to try to tell me I should pay thousands for a dress I will only wear once. I caught myself wondering how damn dumb do they think I am?

I started looking around trying to find best deal. Where I am a curvy girl dresses are hard to find. At Goodwill I saw a wedding dress that was donated. The bottom of the Hem was dirty from the dress being worn outside. I tried it on. It is tight on the arms. It has very intricate detail on the chest of the dress. It has white bridal buttons down the back of the dress. It has a 6 feet long trail. I thought it was pretty but figured the price was probably going to be high. I bought a wedding dress for $25 before tax. I know it needs cleaned and maybe altered but for that price I am willing to find out! I just saved thousands.

Since I am the untraditional bride I talked to my fiance had him look at the dress. He asked me if we can’t get the stain out of the Hem if the skirt can we tie dye it. He knows I love tie dye. He knows I haven’t chose the wedding colors yet. A rainbow wedding would delight me! While I wore it my cat Ziggy was playing on my skirt leaving tiny paw prints.. I wasn’t even mad. It needs cleaned anyway.

I am debating on doing YouTube videos on my misadventures on preparing for the wedding. I hope I can help save other brides money too!

Congrats on the score! I thought thousands for a dress sounded ridiculous too (though I hate hunting for clothes so I still bought mine new, only $160 though so not too terrible). Tie-dyed would look awesome!

Videos would probably go over well. When I was planning my wedding I devoured all the "cheap wedding" stories I could find, because most of the traditional wedding information info out there suggested that it was totally normal to spend $5000 on a cake and buy diamond earrings for your dozen bridesmaids.

My sister in law paid $9 for her wedding dress from a thrift store. Absolutely beautiful dress. Weddings don’t have to be expensive. I saw a wedding dress brand new for $100 after my Grandma was already making mine. Lol
