From Linda Alvarado on Facebook.

Math was always far, far over my head. My poor, brilliant parents had to put up with a child who couldn’t get beyond third grade math. No languages either. Today we all know what learning disabilities are. In the 1940’s, it was all the child’s fault.

Today’s educators work hard to find ways beyond the genetic blocks. I truly appreciate this. Not all the kids can see numbers or do multiplication, but many can. It was discovered, my last year in college, that I can see numbers in color. The joke is on me as I am a colorist.

  • Himself: Gym, breakfast, work…and he says he is really doing good today.
  • Herself: Vastly better every day. Doing books today.
  • Reading: Nothing….just finished the 2017 JA Jance and I will move toward my book pile when I get home from work.
  • Gratitude’s: That I can see color.

Back in the day...1958 to be exact...nobody had thought to connect March 14 to pi. It was the day Bob took me as his wife. Now we have a wonderful family circle, expanding each moment as the 4th generation is about to arrive. Adding is easier than multiplication!

Happy Pi Day ! I never did well with Math but I suffered through it until Calculus (then it was a option, not required ) so I passed on enrolling . Of course that ruined my chances of being a Vet or doctor but I never thought I could get that far anyway . I did not have enough confidence. I had to take it in college and I got an A in both classes and did physics , which I had not attempted before. In college I had much better teachers, the high school ones discouraged me . It depends so much on the quality of the teachers . Amazing that you see numbers in color ! One of my brothers sees them backwards ; letters too. Luckily he was in school when they were beginning to understand how to work with dyslexia and other perception differences. The brain is truly fascinating.

You can see numbers in colour...that is interesting! I'd be interested in seeing a representation of what you experience.
