Due to school system still being on strike i havent been working as a guard so i went to the wedding expo at Glade Springs. I tried yummy cakes, met photographers, got to compare prices on djs, got to know prices of wedding locations in my area. Glade Springs would be a beautiful place to get married if you had money to blow. I was astonished how high the prices are. A basic photographer through them was $1,000 alone. My friend brianna offered do my wedding for $75.

My favorite thing i saw the entire time was the happy little photo bus. Inside the voltswagon bus was a camera with props. People pile in take selfies to their hearts content they can email the guests the pictures and print out pictures to give to guests. Sounds like fun until you find out to 2 hours using the the selfie van is $600…ouch! I think i will find a cheaper way to create this experience when the time comes. Get my own props get some Polaroid instant cameras to create their masterpieces.

While i was there a cosmetologist did makeup and my hair for free for the expo. I loved the makeup but my up do fell down in less than 2 hours from my updo. If i pay for my hair to be done for my wedding it is $100. If i pay for hair and makeup to be done professionally for me and 4 bridesmaids plus gel manicure for the bride it is $700! Holy cow! I am debating on either taking them to a beauty academy because it helps students learn the skills they need and it is cheaper. Either that or i might have my friend do their makeup and hair. She is only a teenager but her skills are impressive. She plans to go to beauty academy after she graduates highschool. She volunteered her services. I will of course pay her a fair price.

I bought a black wedding dress in 2012 at Goodwill for $15. The man i planned to wear it for left me due to commitment issues. When i first started dating Talan he said he hopes i will wear it for our wedding. Talan mother Dee likes the black dress said no doubt at 31 i am fooling no one about being a virgin. I dont want struck down for lying. A black dress i am fine with. More traditional people may view it as offensive. I do not care! I am either doing this dress or a retro wedding dress from a pawn shop or order online.

I was thinking buying infinity dresses for the bridesmaids. Cool thing about infinity dresses is they can be tied to different styles. Each bridesmaid can tie their dress to their unique preference still match color theme for the wedding best of all dresses fairly cheap.I will of course purchase these dresses online. I plan to buy one for myself to play with. I always wanted this dress.

I was told a professional bouquet is between $40-100+ i am either thinking making my own bouquets or pay for the ones off of wish.com i found really cute. I am still researching how to make this wedding cheaper.

Talan’s mom Dee offered to make the cake for us. I bought a wedding cake topper before i met Talan. I am debating using that heavy traditional topper or i might get an Up themed wedding topper. I love the movie want a lot of baloons not only cause it is cheap. I want an adventure book to put my pictures in.

I dont plan to get married till 2 years down the road so i have plenty time to collect money, diy items i need and yardsale thriftshop goods. I need to find a Polaroid camera.that might be challenging.

I signed up for unemployment they refuse my claim. Due to strike tomorrow more job applications. I am glad i got to enjoy expo might be last bit fun i will have. Thank god expo is free.

I got married in Vegas and loved it. WORLDS cheaper than if I had gotten married in Texas.
I went with a non-tradition wedding dress as well -- a wine red brides maid dress. Cost me $189 instead of the thousands for a "traditional" wedding dress. ☺

I think our whole wedding cost less than $500? My dress was $100 for the material and I had it made by my Grandma. Flowers and courages, my girls paid for their own dresses which were also made. We had a cake made and then had our wedding st my husband’s aunt and uncle’s house. They are pastors and didn’t have a church yet. Every church I called for when we wanted to wedding was already booked so his aunt and uncle said do it at their place. They provided the music and my husband’s Grandpa (former pastor) did our wedding. A friend took pics and I think we paid him $50? So yeah, rather inexpensive.

Perhaps do a park wedding. There’s a park near here where I live that has a pavilion and you can have music too. It’s free as long as no one else is using it. Then just do cake, nuts, mints and punch afterward at the park or at some other location (like a relative’s home, for example).
