Hello! I’m Sydney! I’m 20 years old (21 in June) and I live in Fayetteville, North Carolina. I’ve lived here since I was 3. My dad was in the military and was stationed here before he was shipped to Afghanistan in 03 and after his tour, he retired and became a police officer and I haven’t found a reason to leave just yet.
I’m currently in a relationship with an amazing guy named Brandon. He’s currently in Basic training in Fort Leonardwood, Missouri, so, I’m only in touch with him through letters. We haven’t been dating very long, but we’re both planning on staying together for a long time.
I work at a little Deli in town, but I’m hoping that I will be working somewhere else soon. Fingers are crossed for something good, but I enjoy my job and the people that surround me.
I’ve been through a lot growing up. My parents splitting, really bad depression, self harm, a suicide attempt, plenty of break ups, an abusive relationship and lots of toxic friendships. The best thing about it though, I’ve never let anything define me. I’ve been trying to flip all of it to something positive, but I haven’t found a silver lining to it all just yet. I feel like it’s coming though.
I have one sister that’s 7 years older than me. She lives in Nashville so I only see her about once a year, maybe twice if my mom decides to do a big trip with us, but mostly just once.
My mom is currently in Afghanistan as a contractor. She’s been there for 2 years now and I only see her every 6 months so seeing her is always something to be grateful for. She’s been my biggest inspiration.
I own two beta fish. That’s it. I know it’s lame, but they’re so adorable and they make me happy so I’m content for now. Really want a corgi and a German Shepherd, but since my dad is trying to sell the house we’re in, I have to wait until I get my own place before I get anymore animals.
