Slowly getting settled in the new unit. Still have a ton of stuff to sort out, and loads of stuff i will need to go through at some point in the future to try and purge stuff I’ve been hanging onto for years…
Also need to tear down the holiday decorations that I put up on Xmas eve with mom and get that sorted and put away, then find homes for my pictures and shelves on the walls and figure out where every thing is going to live.

Holidays- pretty good! despite the stress of the move, we had a pretty good Christmas! Mom arrived friday and that was major moving day. Her and D took care of most of it while I was at work. They had a bit of a hold up while the land lord took 6 hrs to put up kitchen cabinets…
Saturday morning we got up early and went and did a grocery run and came home to put that away and get more stuff moved in/around and tried to deal with. I had to work again, so that left mom and D to once again deal with it all.
Sunday I was off, and D had to work… We spent the morning sorting things around in here, and then setting up Christmas stuff to make it a bit more Holiday-ish around the stress, then spent the rest of xmas eve just relaxing. Me and Mom went for a brief walk to the corner store, and then wandered around the community a little bit to show her a house that D and I would LOVE to own if we were multi-millionaires lol and then looked around at the decorations people had up on the short walk home.

Christmas day we slept in a bit and then got up and did NOTHING.. lol we had breakfast, and opened gifts, then sat around for a bit. Started supper, realized i didn’t have a few things we “needed” so me and mom ran out to an open drugstore that sadly didn’t have most of what we were looking for, came home, and winged it. about 2 hrs into cooking the bird we started noticing light flickers, then realized the weather got nasty, and that people all around were losing power, quickly got all the veg ready and prayed the power would stay on till supper was ready.
We lucked out! we didn’t lose power at all, supper was a success! the tree on the opposite corner lost a major tree branch, so we were actually really luck we DIDN’T loose power!

Boxing day we slept in, then got up and hammered back at clearing out the other unit, then cleaned it all out, and called it done…
Get a msg today from the LL about how we didn’t do it well enough....
Oh sorrrrryyyyy it wasn’t fucking spotless when you actually wanted it done BEFORE xmas, and yet you held us up on moving for 6 hrs to put up cabinets that aren’t even 100% done right, and this place wasn’t 100% spotless either.... ugh stress.... said he’s taking $50 from our deposit for it, but oh well.. lol
see how the next year goes, if this is to expensive/ he turns out to be an ass, then we will start looking for something else lol

Sorry, this update turned into a rant lol

Getting deposits back is always such a pain. I can't imagine moving so close to Christmas!
