Ten Things in These Foolish Things

  1. I’ve been having very vivid dreams over the past couple of days. One was a super sexy sex dream, but I can’t remember/imagine who the other person was. So in my mind, I’ve given that role to Bachelor Party Marty since he and I are still sending steamy texts back and forth. We’ve made a tentative date to see each other over the weekend…but we’ve also been doing that for weeks, so we’ll see what happens. Would sure be nice to have a good rodgering to really kick off the holiday festivities, eh?

  2. The other super vivid dream that I remember is one where I was scheduled to fly to China at a certain time, and I knew that I had a limited amount of time to get whatever I was doing done before my flight. In other words, I was fucking off and ended up figuring out that I was going to miss my flight! Now. Missing a flight to a certain city in China for a work trip is nothing short of disastrous in that there’s only one flight a day and if you miss Day 1, you’re pretty much screwed for the whole trip. In my dream I was sooooo stressed out about what I was going to tell my boss as well as how I was going to fix my schedule that when I woke up I was breathing heavy and freaking out. It felt SO REAL. It’s funny that I haven’t been on a trip to China in two years now.

  3. Work’s been going well lately. I do believe I pulled off a pretty major coup, setting up some possibly major things to happen in the near future, and if this works - well, this could be GREAT! But I do need to keep this momentum going. Yeah, I got some things started, but the follow-through is crucial now. Go, go, go!

  4. I have had a little tiny bit of back-and-forth texting with the guy I met on Sunday night. Nothing exciting to report because he’s still on a business trip. Will be interesting to see if he starts communicating when he’s back (supposed to be back tonight).

  5. Excited about the Argentina trip with [Elaine Benes]! So many things planned, I’m almost tired thinking about how MUCH we have planned. Walking tours, shopping tours, palace tours, horseback riding, a day in Uruguay, cooking classes and wine, wine and more wine! Elaine and I are now working on our packing lists - what the hell to wear on New Year’s Eve where it’s summertime?! So, so excited!

  6. Regarding the above, I’m flying coach to Buenos Aires - though SexyPants has “gifted” me some of his system-wide upgrades on American Airlines. It seems I won’t find out if the awards will come through until right before the trip. And it also seems that since he’s offered, he’s also stopped communicating with me, which means he’s gotten serious with some woman again (that’s what that always means), so I have no idea if he’s reneged on his gift or not. What all of this means is that I mentally have to prepare to fly coach on an overnight trip. It’s not the end of the world - the flight to and from Italy earlier in the year was about as long and I flew coach (albeit in the bulkhead, which was so nice to have all of that legroom). Just wish I knew. I’m hoping for a pleasant surprise…

  7. Also highly interested in seeing what the Men Situation is like in Argentina. According to Aziz Ansari, in his extensive dating research in his book Modern Romance, the men in Argentina are so forward and into “the hunt” that women are constantly pursued everywhere they go! I think is so interesting to think about how different cultures view dating. Good article here.

  8. When I get back from the holidays and Argentina and the New Year, I’m going to have to start in on a new clutter-cleaning process. Remember when I Kondo’d my closet over a year ago? Yeah, it’s time to do it again. It’s gotten cluttered along with the rest of the apartment, and I really want to move in April to a new/better place (I know, I went through this last year, but I really want to do it next year), and I just need to declutter…pretty desperately at this point. I need to do some major decluttering of my office as well. New job, need new outlook. Wish I had a whole new office that I could start from scratch, but I might as well just do the de-cluttering process here, too. What an undertaking!

  9. Christmas shopping nearly done for my family (including new baby niece!). This is going to be such a fun Christmas! And the cool thing is, I will naturally need to leave after 24 hours to go on my trip out of the country…so no lingering and getting pissed off at my LOUD brother. My goal for this Christmas is to not let my agitation get the better of me. Let’s see if I can pull that off.

  10. Getting a move-on at work now. Lots to do!
