NJM 23 - Thanksgiving Trot and Baby Birthday! in These Foolish Things

It’s been a really nice day.

Did the Turkey Trot early with my work buddy, Nance. She won’t be a work buddy for long, however, she put her notice in on Monday. Long story. The Trot was fun.

Of course I didn’t see Steve McQueen, what with nearly 25K people all trotting throughout downtown, but he did text me a Happy Thanksgiving text after it was over and I was heading out to my folks’.

Got to Mom and Dad’s house and they were READY to eat immediately! In fact, there was already food on the table and I had to rush to get my salad mixed and set out. Good thing I didn’t get here any later!

It was my niece’s 2nd birthday AND my Sis-in-Law’s first Thanksgiving. I asked my SIL if she knew the story of Thanksgiving, and she said no, so my brother said that’s what he teaches in school. When he asked me to tell the story, I said no, that I’d rather HE tell the story since he was the schoolteacher and all.

Glad he told the story because there were things he talked about that I never knew - don’t ask me what they are..they are more like little tidbits, like the kind of beer they drank and stuff.

Ate, celebrated my niece’s 2nd birthday, walked to the lakeside (weather was amazing!), came back and took a nap during the football game, chatted with my folks, played with the baby some more, ate again, went shopping a bit for early Black Friday, played with the baby some more, watched a bit of TV with the fan and now I’m settling in to go to bed. Super exhausted.

Sent and received many Thanksgiving texts and phone calls. I love technology for that.

And now I’m about to let my head hit the pillow because I am absolutely falling asleep in this damn recliner.
