Sometimes we are meant to have certain people in our life.
Sometimes, our life is just not ready yet.
If your soul nags you every day, walking from house to house, knocking on doors.
If it wakes, black in color, reminded of loss.
If you feel the static in your soul shift your focus so intensely that you know something isn’t right.
That’s how you know.
When your body senses a presence, without understanding.
When you aren’t able to forget anything about how that presence feels.
Sometimes we aren’t ready for these things.
We aren’t ready because we never cared enough to take control.
It’s easy to ride along. It hurts sometimes, but its easy.
Control means becoming a better person.
It means pushing yourself to do what is difficult.
Make choices that are going to come with a lot of work.
When you start living for yourself, life seems so much more beautiful.
You become unbroken, and the path you choose is one that takes you exactly where you want. Not where it’s easiest to go.
When you aren’t broken, it makes sense to find those people.
Because you don’t need them.
You don’t want to lean on anything.
You have everything written in your own words.
That’s the only way you can really appreciate these soul filling people.
When it’s want. When it’s desire. When you don’t long for them to rescue, or fix you, or save you.
When you don’t need that, it makes sense.
Need is a cloud that suffocates.
Want is liberating.
Need bleeds your soul.
Kills what is effortless and raw.
Need becomes a staple, a post, a chain.
It is fear. It is repeating mistakes. It is drunk and fighting for something you should be in control of.
When you can be limitless.
When you don’t need direction from anyone.
It makes sense that your soul would find the light you’ve been missing.
When you don’t want to use it as a means to fix you, but to love it unconditionally.
