TGI(Fucking)F!
OMG, you guys. It’s Friday morning and my boss has promised to talk with my team all week about their (lack of full) pay increases, and he still hasn’t done it! I have postponed their appraisals until this afternoon and he’s promised and promised that he’d do it, yet he’s tied up in meetings ALL MORNING. I am stressed and so very pissed at him right now. It’s literally the only thing I’ve ever insisted that he do because I need for him to do this as it was HIS decision and not mine, and he’s fucking me over. I will be absolutely LIVID if it gets to be 2PM and I start giving my reviews and he hasn’t spoken to them. Just proves he absolutely does not have my back.
Meanwhile, the negotiations have started at potential new job. I have interviewed, sent my resume, sent my current pay information and my salary ask to them. I suppose it’s all about what they are willing to give me at this point. I didn’t ask for too much, really. The median salary for a Director of Product Development and Design (plus that title, which I haven’t negotiated yet!). I’m getting really keyed up about this.
It’s really time for a change and if I can’t make this one work, I’m going to have to go full force for something else immediately. It’s like I can feel an imminent break-up with my current situation.
Someone reached out to me this week via text. I had been referred to them by a friend and they are looking to start an apparel manufacturing company. I don’t know that this will turn into something viable, but it’s always good to get out there and talk, and I’m happy to give advice as I am able. Who knows, what comes around, goes around, right? Or is it the other way? What goes around comes around? You know what I mean.
Steve McQueen has reached out a few times via text this week, but hasn’t asked me out or anything. Maybe it’s time for me to ask him to do something casual? Would that be weird? I really want to go to the fair, but I bet he’s doing that with his kid, maybe? Maybe not, since his youngest “kid” is 18. I went to the fair last year with the Tree and it was sooooooo much fun! Now that we’ve had 4ish casual dates, what are your thoughts on me asking him out? I probably wouldn’t have the guts to do it this weekend, but…hm…brunch last Saturday was absolutely wonderful, I’d love to do that again.
Regardless. Change is in the air! Fall is approaching and I’m so, so ready for the road trip that I’m taking with [Athena] next week/end! Even though it’s not my actual birthday, I’m considering it my birthday road trip and I’m so very excited about it! I expect to have my car back by then (remember the thugs who cut me off and then, I guess, decided that they were hurt or something?) - it’s been in the shop for 2 weeks now… but besides that, we’re ready to roll!
And the week after is my actual, actual BIGGIE birthday. The big Five-Oh. I’m ready for it!
Okay, off to continue with this Friday the 13th, as it were.
