"THE RIGHT THING TO DO?" in "RESTLESS: POETICALLY-SPEAKING"

Welcome to reality
Again, this is how you’re supposed to be
No more stupid sentimentality
It only makes you one weakling, cry-baby

They say speaking up is important
but why do they pretend?
Not everyone values your opinions
In fact, truth is not always what it counts

So you keep quiet
no matter how hard
Your mind’s full of riot
no idea where to start

They say love should be spoken,
but what if your heart gets broken?
Reality’s a torment
You find yourself frightened
in case once again,
he’s just not the one

Sometimes it’s the only right thing to do
Just hide what’s painfully true
in order to protect no one but you
for shame only leaves you feeling blue…

I always read your writing and never comment, do I? I think you're very talented. I can almost always find myself in your words, and I definitely struggle to express them myself. Cheers to you. It's clear you are strong & beautiful. ☀️

Thank you. Nah, sorry. I was just mad at someone at my old workplace. Not very elegant, I have to admit, but oh, well.
