Week's End. in These Foolish Things

It felt like a relief to get all of that gossip out on paper yesterday. See the previous entry for the dirt. Like I said in the entry, I’m not sure if it is a set-up to see how quickly that story can spread, but it’s NOT going to come from me, that’s for sure. I’ll be curious to see if I hear anything comes from any other areas, because again, I rarely hear gossip. But this one sure is a doozy.

And it’s funny, our CEO loooooves to get dirt on people (clearly, she knows about this one). Sometimes she seems giddy when I find myself in closed-door meetings with her. She can talk smack with the best of them. I’m a little surprised she hasn’t let out a squeak of a hint - she has this awesome way of giving subtle clues - and some not-so-subtle.

Sidebar, I also adore that our CEO is a woman. This business is typically kind of a “guy” type of situation. I’d say it’s at least decade behind my former companies in the progressiveness arena. And this woman, while she has to put on a rather masculine hat, does an amazing job. Sure, she has her moments, but I’m impressed by the majority of things she’s pulled off in this male-dominated biz, and sometimes I’m just plain blown away. You go, girl!

Anyway, my lips are sealed here at the office. But you know I’ll spill it all on these pages.

What else is new?

Sadly, I’ve given up on Steve McQueen. I’m just as surprised by his disappearance as I was AA’s ghosting. I truly thought we had chemistry. If he shows up somewhere down the road, that’s great. But for now, sayonara, sucker.

I truly wish I knew what it was that keeps me from getting to that elusive second date! I’m getting a complex. Strike that, I have a complex.

Tonight I’m supposed to go have din din and drinks with Maria, so we’ll see what kind of interesting creatures come out of the woodwork. I didn’t write about the last time we went out together, did I? How I was serenaded by the hot (but hot mess of a) crooner at the fancy pants bar? Yeah, fun but I was a waste the next day. I’m going to watch it tonight. I have stuff to do tomorrow.

Okay, well, I’m headed out of the office a little bit early today - we have been given an “early” day to start the long weekend, however, I have a slow leak in my tire and I need to take care of that shit by making sure I have enough air in my tire. Tomorrow morning a guy will come to my apartment with a loaner car and take my little cabriolet away. Sniff. It’s okay. Loaner or not, I plan to spend my weekend walking (except for tonight when I will take my faithful Lyft).

So for my fellow Americans, have a wonderful Labor Day Weekend! For the rest of the world, have a fabulous end of your week, too.

No matter where you are, I love you. That goes for YOU TOO, my person somewhere out there.

xox,
GS
