George Mason Trip and Other Stuff 7/10/2001

Yeah, I'm back. I was one of the only northerners there, which made the trip interesting, to say the least. I've let go of some of my old stereotypes due to some wonderful people that I've met. My self-esteem has gone up because I made more friends in George Mason than I had at Carnegie Mellon. Then my self-esteem went down because once again, I was shot down by guys. I'll explain more about my trip later, but I'm so tired right now. I get up at six in the morning so I can be at camp by eight. For seven consecutive hours I watch over crazy six year old. Some are really sweet, but some I could just dump into the pool. Then I had to go on errands right after work to pick up my friends' presents. I first got home at nine at night after running around all day. Work is definitely wearing me out...Work sucks. I'm known as "John's older sister." I don't know, I just don't fit in.

On the way home today I got into a monster fight with my mom, my sister, and my brother. Pretty talented, I know. I'll explain more about that later.

Tonight was cool. Two of my friends, Joan and Fran had a joint b'day party, which really cheered me up. The best feeling in the world is the feeling of being wanted...It was especially nice because I deal with alienation from some of the PMS counselors at camp. Some counselors are nice, like my co-counselor Teal, but I can't see us becoming buddy-buddy. Have to go and pass out now...
